Sunderland could replace Regis Le Bris

Personally I'd ban Talkshite to media access & access to the match until they issue an apology
I know its click bait but it does couple of things
  • alerts other clubs
  • undermines SAFC
The BBC carried it in there football gossip section, so its already got a wider audience, 2 days before we have a game

Guessing they are trying to deflect from the shambles of the clubs they cheerlead for, the Saudi's, Spurs, Chelsea etc.

While it’s click bait nonsense, these days every manager is only a months worth of bad results away from being “reviewed” etc

There is nothing wrong with the hierarchy reviewing his position, and nothing wrong with keeping a shortlist of potential replacements, but I think for now RLB has the backing of most of us here (possible exception of @brisbanemackem ) and has done a superb job this season. Its pretty clear he has the respect of the players too.

If we get into Europe that would be an unexpected bonus.

Who is, in his view?
Was before one of the qualifiers last year, forget which game… but it was basically Matterface, Deeney (I know…) and Crook talking about Kane playing deep like he always does. Then Crook comes out and says England should be playing other strikers instead, questioning Tuchel’s selection and if Kane is going to be England’s best choice at the world cup.

I just can’t take the man seriously. His sources are all from X and he just makes shit up constantly.

Said to my mate after the play offs.

Unless we spend awa 150 million on new players including Xhaka, are competitive in virtually every game next season, are 2 points off Chelsea (and Europe) going into the final 5 games of the season and beat the mags twice we’ll need a new manager next summer……

Fking ‘ell man, would be like bagging Beyoncé and rumoured to be wanting out because Sabrina Carpenter might be interested in ya.

No chance of this happening, we would have to be mad to get rid of him
Can’t remember the user but I saw a post in the thread about Chelsea’s manager getting the chop and they pointed out that the state of English football is such that there are no young, highly competent coaches that can get results at the premier league level. It would be suicidal for the clubs premier league and long term survival if they sacked RLB. Does he get it wrong? Absolutely! But it would be monumentally dumb to bin him off because he couldn’t secure a top 10 finish in our first season back in the prem for nearly a decade.

Don't think he is any danger whatsoever. Its been a crazy season for a fair few clubs, I don't think we will get away with bucking the stats as much next seasons on chance conversion / Roefs saves. There are a few things he needs to adjust if we want to progress as a club on the field, the mag result and spuds have papered over the cracks a little bit. I hope it carries on till the end of the season the higher we finish the easier to attract the right players if the club want to. It makes a nice change from years of hoping the season would finish early because we were just out of the relegation zone that particular week.

I was thinking yesterday about who would be able to tempt him away from us in the summer. I think to leave the Premier League it would have to be a big champions league club and he won't be on their radar atm. Then in the Premier League it looks like there'll be a lot of managerial changes in the summer but I'd be confident that he would leave for anyone other than the top 5, who again won't be looking at him yet. I think we're fine for now but if we have another good season that's when someone will try to take him off us.

Would make no sense. Our aim this season was to stay in the league and we have achieved that with flying colours.

Qualifying for Europe would be a huge bonus.

I can only see them replacing him if we don't qualify for Europe after the next 2 seasons or something.

Even then, it's largely dependent on circumstances -players in and out and money spent etc.

Would be complete lunacy to get rid of him at this stage , given the job he is doing.
More chance of RLB being poached than fired imo.

Not sure he would be tempted though.
