Strauss and his stupid ideas....

I think my time as a Durham member may be coming to an end, the opportunity to watch cricket is becoming less each year.

Your decision to make naturally. Just sad that what you may see as a protest against what's happening will only end up.making it happen easier and sooner

After subscribing to Sky for 25 years I cancelled it six years ago and have never missed it once. They ruined Rugby League and now it's cricket's turn.
I watch it other ways which in no way contributes to their £££ or viewing figures. That said I don't watch half as much sport as I used to and if I can I'll avoid sky sports and watching a foreign broadcast where possible

When I saw the Twitter headline I thought it was to accommodate the Hundred. They say it's to avoid a clash with the FAPL.

What a load of cobblers.

So sky proposed it and ECB accepted it, they could have just said no. Or are we now to expect Premier league games to start at 11am weekdays

It will be to do with the PL They’d much rather avoid two ‘marquee’ daytime events clashing. They’ll get more £ for their Ashes investment if it’s put on in June versus an August Sunday afternoon when they’ve already got Man Utd v Liverpool on.

I don’t see a problem with the Ashes move as it keeps it away from September.

He who pays the piper calls the tune. I doubt FTECB could turn them down. I expect they have blown their reserves on the 16.4 and if they don’t recoup that they will be in trouble.

Speculation, but I’d bet that’s not far off the mark.

Up to the members now to make their voices heard at their club. Given how poor communication is at Durham, it will be interesting to see if the club decide to liaise with members over this. I'd expect some sort of statement quite soon if they seriously want to take our views into consideration.
