Answered the points with shite youve made up. Bruce is a revisionist, you are his apologist. Im not interested in what youre saying because it is bollocks.
What shite? There's a fuckin article just been posted that's meant to prove me wrong yet proved me 100% right in that he says the Geordie thing not the main reason.Something which you claimed he said was the whole reason!
I then ask you to find these numerous occasions he's called us out other than when we've played them and you can't do that either!
It's all very well spouting shit but il challenge you to back up it and when you can't you just run away claiming I'm the one talking shite!
Stop being bitter and move on.

I didn't mind him when he left to be honest but the way he keeps bringing us up in interviews is annoying. Unlucky Brucey. 2-0 and you fucked it up.

You can't pick and chose the bits you read.

"Being a Newcastle fan, as soon as it went a little pear-shaped they couldn't wait to jump on the bandwagon."

Can't agree with this. I think a lot of fans gave him a lot more patience than he would normally have received. Most peoples gripes with him stem from him making a huge issue with his Geordie roots in the press to deflect away from his absolutely shocking record at the time of his sacking. The bloke blames everyone but himself. Hull will go down next year and he ll blame the Europa League. It's how he operates.
How did he get shown more patience? This is something I don't understand. We were lower in the table at time of both keanes and oneil sackings yet they never got any abuse at all!

Yeah I agree with Bruce on that.Id be pretty stupid not to as I was in the crowd against Wigan when thousands of fans chanted " you fat Geordie bastard" at him.
Bit of a giveaway that really.
What he never said was that was the reason he got sacked. It's amazing how so many people go on about the re-writing of history by Bruce yet time and time again do it themselves!

He did.

Fourth paragraph.

The fact that at the time of his sacking it was the end of a 2nd awful run of form. Neither Keane or O Neill blamed other people when they were under pressure, and when they were eventually sacked they left with dignity. Did Bruce? Did he fuck and that's why people hate him. Most fans could not give a flying fuck where the blokes from, but he concentrated on the minority who did and threw a lot of shit to his press buddies which stuck and hid his truly awful record ensuring his name was not tarnished but our fans were!

Keane just took us to court to try and sue us! Lot of dignity eh.Imagine if Bruce done that! Dear god!
As I also said they never got the abuse Bruce got so would have no reason to be upset by the fans.

Except we weren't lower in the table, we were 18th when FGB was sacked. When O'Neill was sacked we were 16th and Keane resigned. I'd learn a few things about our club before commenting.

The fat geordie bastard stuff didn't come until the last 20 minutes of his last game with us, and considering how crap we were that day, and had been for the previous 11 months, it was hardly surprising that the heat of the moment had people going for the throat with that chant. He's implying that it had gone on for months and we got on his back whenever we lost a game, the problem is the number of sheep, yourself included, happy to take him at his word.

He did.

Still don't see how that constitutes blaming his roots solely.Granted he's searching for reasons like all sacked managers do but he never laid the blame squarely at that door.He even said it was a minority which I'd have to take issue with as it was certainly more than that.

The obsession with SB on here is sad as fuck. He got the sack, move on. We have had significantly worse managers in charge over the last 20 years, never mind 100, yet they don't get the same grief. MacMenemy, Wilkinson, Cotterill, Sbragia just off the top of my head.

Let it go, FFS!

We were 16th under Bruce.18th under keane and one point above relegation under oneil.
I'd learn a few things about our club before you start commenting sunshine!

Fair enough, I remembered that wrongly about where we were in the table when FGB was sacked, however, we were also 16th when O'Neill was sacked. The Keane situation is a different comparison as he resigned.

All 3 had to go, only Bruce outstayed his welcome and only Bruce has acted like a petulant child since.

As for you talking down to people with your 'sunshine' act, grow up.

@Mrjardine

If you feel there are too many threads on Steve Bruce on this board why is it you seem to extend them by posting a response and questioning every other post in them. They die off much quicker when someone isn't arguing against every post in them you know.

Oh really is this after your condescending "I'd learn a few things about our club" Craic when you were the one who was actually wrong?
Wether keane was sacked or resigned fact is we were 18th just been humped at home to Bolton and he never got any grief whatsoever!
As for the not acting like a petulant child over the sacking you would do well to remember keane is still in a court battle with us about compensation! As I've said imagine if Bruce had done that !

I know but where's the fun in that!

"As soon as it went pear shaped"? We were largely crap for 11 months. The Wigan game was hardly a blip. We were in a slide he couldnt stop and he knows it. He got virtually nothing from the crowd throughout that run.

It was starting in couple o games leading up to that though to be fair and Wigan game was way over the top at the end. Boo them off not a problem but the abuse he got was well out of order.

You were also wrong when you stated that we were in worse positions under both O'Neill and Keane, which is not the case. Same position under O'Neill and 18th under Keane. The bad run under Keane also wasn't an 11 month long bad run.

If he hadn't started blaming everyone but himself, the fans included, the abuse he got in return wouldn't have been personal. As personal abuse at matches goes, fat geordie bastard is hardly the worst thing anyone has ever been called.

We were in a worse position as we were 1 point above the drop zone with 7 games to go under oneil as oppose to being 2 clear with best best of 30 games to play under Bruce.
You were wrong and compounded matters with your arrogance simple as that.
The context with which is was sang and the general dislike towards him made it pretty bad.

“I still think that to be shown the door at Sunderland just 10 or 11 games into the season, after making so many changes in the summer, is hard but there you go. I think people there were influenced by the crowd and make no mistake, the Geordie thing came into play.”
