Staff Redundancies at SAFC

Why? So everyone can get outraged? I've got no problem with it if it gets a bit of team spirit going.
Right oh. Drunken players on a jolly in New York and 90 people gone home tonight worried about their future.

Just can't see the issue?

It's the same all over and has been for quite some time. I'd imagine when the wages soared through SKY etc.
The sooner a lot of people have the realisation that ( the vast majority of ) players care not one iota about us fans, the easier it is in turn to think fuck em.
Newcastle were the same under first relegation when about 100 odd staff got paid off. Did Ashley or players care ? the majority didn't give a monkeys, they were off to Dubai, Vegas or Barbados, not the dole que. Exactly same happening at Sunderland.
Said it for years now but it's staggering how many still turn up despite constantly being shit on time and time again.
Despite us fans spending thousands and all the hassle that goes with it. You'll never be appreciated. Fuck em.

But we havt been relegated. We have had Moyes surrendering since the second game, now this shambles, I wonder how much that jock bastard gets as a bonus for reducing wages?

Even if there's no job there for them? Don't be ridiculous.

It wasn't a PR exercise. It was something the manager wanted to do with the players.

People look at it the wrong way. The players weren't being rewarded with a trip to New York. These are very well paid young men who can enjoy a trip to New York whenever they want. This was a team building exercise where they were running about Central Park in the freezing cold. It wasn't a friggin' holiday.

Okay, clumsily worded. My point was that the club turned what was something that I doubt many of the players wanted to do with a 'free week' into an effort to show the public what a canny bunch of lads they were frolicking in the park etc. They should've posted nothing, that alone leaves a bad taste.

A weeks wages from each player would save how many staff jobs for a year?

Somehow I struggle to buy into why it's the people who are barely scraping by on probably little more than a living wage who must bare the brunt of the clubs perilous £140 million debt.

Where has it ever been said that people are going who are scraping by?

I work with a lad presently who is mates with one of the lads on the books at Preston. He was telling me this morning that he had been speaking to his mate yesterday who said Jordan Pickford's snap chat had been full of the team f***ing hammered all the time they were in New York. It's f***ing dog shite that as shit as they are they are still luxury holidays like this.

Complete bollocks. Pickford seems a pretty smart lad so to say he would risk pics getting out into the press of the team hammered is a joke.

My first attempt at posting a thread on here was to criticise the grinning idiots parading around Central Park.

Now put in context it looks even worse.

But 50 people on here told me I was an idiot.

Strange place this.

According to Prehab one of the guys given notice was on £35k or £50k per week which is hardly " barely scraping by on probably little more than a living wage" - or it wouldn't be for me. We don't know what the jobs are or the pay rates.

A week? That's £2.6m a year

£35k or £50k. Over £1.6m per year..... Wild guess if every I heard one. There won't be anyone on that other than players.

Don't we have this same thread about this time of year every season?

I'm sure it's so they've had the statuary notice in case we get relegated, as you say.

Hopefully it will only be this, and the lads start by grinding out a result, starting at Everton, any lack of effort and they need to know !!!

I can confirm this too.

Per year mate. Normal people ! With reference to the team having slurps. Aye. It's never stopped really. Under any regime.

Per year! Was in response to @chriswallace85 who I assumed asked per year.

It's a non story and perfect for the SMB to get their teeth into, IF we go down there will be redundancies, as if we didn't know!
Spot on Herts, but it's fascinating seeing the various reactions. Some over-react, svome accept the drop means redundancies while other are thrashing themselves senseless with the free hit at the club or various individuals.

I think it's highly unlikely that the players would go away for a week or so and not have a decent drink. No problems with that as such.

But the timing of all this is poor and I can't believe that no-one at the club would have thought about that.

I don't really give a shite about the New York trip though the PR timing is dreadful. However the amount they get paid for what they do is horrendously shameful. Some on 30k a week plus can't even be arsed to track a player into the box.

Going down will be even worse for us, the reality is we are in for many more years of misery I try to tell myself otherwise but we all know the real truth.

I don't think many people do mate. Still seeing threads on here saying Moyes should be sacked (complete with big fat compo cheque presumably) and we should replace him with another better manager:rolleyes:

We can't afford either the compensation never mind the new managers salary and if Moyes goes it will be because he's resigned and we will have Bracewell, Ball and Dickman in charge. Some people really need to wise up here.
