What about an English Language course?Agree with it. Unless they're doing an English literature course then it should be irrelevant.

Did they ever find the last remaining Jane Ausen fiver worth an estimated £50,000 ?You are Jane Austen and I claim my five pounds.

This boils my piss, as does carnt, discusting and no instead of know.It doesn't excuse the misuse of 'loose', when 'lose' is the correct spelling.
You must be in a permanent simmer on here then. There's no need to go past the basic There, Their, and They're; or Your and You're which seems to cause ultimate confusion for (to) too many people - there's another one !This boils my piss, as does carnt, discusting and no instead of know.
It amazes me that people don't know the basics. You must be in a permanent simmer on here then. There's no need to go past the basic There, Their, and They're; or Your and You're which seems to cause ultimate confusion for (to) too many people - there's another one !
Very much a drop in standards if true. I understand we have autocorrect etc but punctuation grammar and spelling are incredibly important in many areas.Mentioned in the papers this morning that some universities are not bothered by spelling mistakes in work submitted by students.
Another drop in standards?
Correct decision?
What’s the point?
We are all going to hell in a handcart!
Give them all degrees or an A* for everything because it's not fair if some are capable and others are not because they might get really upset and cry.Very much a drop in standards if true. One thing I'm a bit naffed off about is my Open University exams, these are in assessment centres and are handwritten when all of the materials are available online meaning you are more likely to use word documents for notes..
Should we be moving towards online exams or is it important to keep hand written exams within academia?
Yes. Anyone can use a spellchecker.Depends what the subject is.
Should a brilliant physicist get downgraded just because they cant spell?
Yes. Anyone can use a spellchecker.
Still yes. They should have taken more notice at school. Not in an exam you cant
The OP should of linked a sauce for this.
It woz a joke m8.should have, not should of
One of the many errors that get on this Grammar school educated old fart!
The two examples in particular that really get on my tits are:
1. 'your' being used instead of 'you're'
2. 'treat' (pronounced as tret) instead of 'treated', as in, for example, the dogs were treat badly (no such word as treat in this context)
Edit - Deleted because I didn't read the comment properly! Not to mention the use of commas (or should I say comma’s as per modern usage?).
I look at the printed text on here as two thingsA few useless gets on here mind.
Putting an "A" instead of "I"
Also not putting the "I" before an "AM"
Don't start me on 'should of' instead of 'should have'.This boils my piss, as does carnt, discusting and no instead of know.
