The analysts travelling to the opposition training grounds have to be reimbursed for their costs as well, apparently even for the disguises they were buying.

There was an interview doing the rounds of a Soton player saying how incredibly detailed the manager in pre-game training "he somehow knows exactly how the other team is going to line up and play" :lol:

I think you would possibly get a lot of that yes. I’m pretty sure teams practice in the formation they are gonna use and set up the “opponents” team to play how they may expect them to play. Surely that’s part of what managers do.

Pens I get. Shape??? Hmm, I dinnar. What the chance's of Boro drastically changing shape for the game? Ya just look at the games and look at what they've done.

Injuries and selection you can usually work out without spying as well.

I just don't see spying unearthing any kind of drastic revelation to give you the edge. There's enough info available these days to prepare properly and above board.
 
Should stick to kicking out Southampton, but replay the play off legs but between boro and Wrexham, then let that play out, imo I think that would be a cleaner situation.

We don’t know if they agreed the process or not. We also don’t know if or if not what they agreed to included any abridged timeline for an appeal. The EFL don’t need them to agree to it anyway. However they would need to in future defend whatever exceptions they adopted still allowed Southampton to have a fair process. As I say I think for the appeal phase Southampton may well feel they have a case that it wasn’t fair.

If theyre running through practice scenarios then yes as they would be using their starting line up and formation to train them for the specific tactical changes ahead of the match.
Look at marescas idiot comments after we beat Chelsea, claiming he had no plans for us playing a back 5 so was scrabbling around before kick off when he saw the starting 11 and warm up. If he could have watched us train he would have planned differently (though it think he was just an idiot and we had adapted to a back 5 at times anyway)

Obviously it goes on, or at least has done in the past. This could be the tip of the iceberg. Who knows. Perhaps all these ex-pros saying the punishment is a bit extreme know something we don't. We know about Bielsa, and apparently it was common place in South America and on the continent.

I just think the whole thing's crackers.

I’m 💯 the FA won’t believe this either. It’s whether they’re able to find further evidence. I’d be surprised if this is over yet and probably not to Southampton gain

We all know now this wasn’t a one off against Boro. And from there it’s simply unbelievable that they randomly chose those two league games, and they didn’t spy on “any” of their wins.

If they did this many times, the distance/angles etc. may have ranged from excellent to poor. Their players are on the record in interviews about how well their new manager does pre-match preparations with uncanny details about the opponents ...
