Im not sure i agree. I think (and tbf im no legal expert) think it will very much influence the severity of the penalty dished out. Are they guilty? Almost certainly yes.Doesn’t matter how he’s done it. Boro could have a viewing gallery if they wanted to.
The rule explicitly forbids a club watching another clubs training within the 72 hours before a match.
It’s also an offence of strict liability, like speeding. Intent or consequence don’t mean anything, it’s purely that it happened.
perfectly feasibleReckon he's taken a right out of St Mary's instead of left and found himself on the A19 gasping for a coffee?
That why they will play the Final, then get relegated before they become a EPL Member. Too little time til the Final IMO, and its a simpler solution for the EFL.Think of F1. A driver causes another to crash, or disobeys a rule, and goes on to win the race. They get a 5/10/20 second penalty, and it promotes the driver who came 2nd to victory.
The person who they actually wronged doesn’t benefit. It’s about punishing the perpetrator, not compensating someone.
If it’s proven that it’s been going on throughout the season, every team who lost out to Southampton (in terms of individual matches or through play-off qualification) & can prove Southampton cheated against themwill have a case against them and could seek compensation through the courts.
It's not some bloke though is it, he's an analyst for the first team.so this professional surveillance operation is some bloke standing next to a tree with an iPhone?
There's no perfect solution. But Boro being put into a final is a more appropriate one than Southampton playing the final and, if they win, Hull going up instead of them.Don’t see how Bereh being passed into the final is either
Wrexham will be going all out if there’s any evidence at all it’s happened to them and be wanting massive compensation as well
So, the lad is an intern but a key part of the first team operation? I think Middlesbrough are understandably a bit desperate. If he is an intern he is not a key part of the first team operation. It needs sorting ASAP. From what I can see Southampton are probably up there with the top two in terms of ability and a better team than Boro. Why they would need to do this is beyond me. I still doubt Southampton will be chucked out of the competition. You must be logged on to see media items
certainly ain’t getting the Bond role
Hi is an intern and a key part of the team. Will Still was an unpaid intern at his first club in Belgium, he was head Coach the very next seasonSo, the lad is an intern but a key part of the first team operation? Especially with that directional mic wedged between his legs. How did he run away in those jeans?
It doesn't matter if they sent the tea lady, they recorded training prior to a match - the ability or status within the organisation of the person actually doing it is surely immaterial? So, the lad is an intern but a key part of the first team operation? Where does it mention strict liability ?Doesn’t matter how he’s done it. Boro could have a viewing gallery if they wanted to.

Not sure how old this article is, and he's removed his linkedin profile now, but he was obviously an intern at some point during his time at uni. They've sent the young lad to do their dirty work, he should know its wrong but is probably naive and keen to impress, almost feel a bit sorry for him that his name and picture is out there when its going to be more senior people that were responsible for sending himSo, the lad is an intern but a key part of the first team operation? Shit espionage is still espionage, as my old spymaster used to say.it's bang out of order obviously but unless there's more pictures to follow it hardly looks like the MI5 operation the media have been painting it as
How can you say give Boro a 3-0 result on the one hand and not Wrexham who would have made the play offs with said 3 points at the expense of Hull? There's no perfect solution. But Boro being put into a final is a more appropriate one than Southampton playing the final and, if they win, Hull going up instead of them.
At least Boro are one of the sides who've been wronged, directly, and they're the ones who caught them and have brought the issue to a head.
With Wrexham, they have a case but it's hard to do with permutations i.e. if Southampton didn't cheat and Wrexham got a result against them, who'd have known how that would have impacted other results etc.....
Boro's is just a cut and dried - "Southampton cheated, give them the game".
