Southampton spying compendium thread

Is the spot the lad from Southampton on a public space that anyone could go to and observe the training? It seems that way. If the club were really concerned about secrets being revealed they surely would have arranged to have it blocked off.

And it looks like hes filming on his phone. Hardly a complex surveillance operation!
Doesn't matter if training is in view of the public, Southampton broke the rules by observing. That lad should've at least had his hands over his eyes.

How can you say give Boro a 3-0 result on the one hand and not Wrexham who would have made the play offs with said 3 points at the expense of Hull?
It starts getting too complex, especially when you're treating two affected teams differently?
I don't think there's a perfect way to deal with it, I think that's the best of a bad bunch.

Boro were directly affected in a one-off tie. Wrexham weren't - as much as they've been fucked, a league defeat can them impact how other ones go, you have permutations etc....

Anything which results in Southampton winning at Wembley, then Hull going up is much more unfair.

By the way, how long have we been waiting for the Man City Independent Commission? lol

Do people really think it will be quick?
I think it will be quick maybe by next week well before the final. In the Man City case according to Kieran Maguire in a podcast I listened to the premier league cocked up bringing to many charges over 115 which made it a lot more complex with every charge having to be investigated. Is cost the premier league over 100 million in legal costs to investigate it. If they had stuck to a few of the worst examples it would have been over a lot quicker. Man City's been tying the premier league up in legal points for years

Okay, when have the Football Authorities ever made a quick decision on a complex issue potentially involving many clubs, not just Boro?
They have 14 days (usually) to reply to the charge. The EFL have asked for it to be quicker. I’m not sure what else they can do and processes have to be followed correctly.

But the point to compare this case and situation to the Man City one is daft.

Like you say it’s complex. How quickly can they do it realistically.

Are they hinting in the article that Boro have evidence of them at another clubs session just before a game. Have a feeling this may have not been a one-off.

Not sure how old this article is, and he's removed his linkedin profile now, but he was obviously an intern at some point during his time at uni. They've sent the young lad to do their dirty work, he should know its wrong but is probably naive and keen to impress, almost feel a bit sorry for him that his name and picture is out there when its going to be more senior people that were responsible for sending him

Building relationships with players is also essential, especially as they will be looking to make use of your work to improve and win matches.

😂

So he was there, now what? Can they prove he was spying?

What do YOU think he was doing there, bearing in mind he's part of Eckert's backroom team, he was seen at a training session of their opponents when EFL rules state he absolutely shouldn't have been and he ran off, hid, changed clothes and refused to identify himself?

Maybe you think he fancied a change of scenery from the South Coast, the New Forest etc and opted for a day trip to scenic Middlesbrough and his manager knew nothing about it ?

Hull are not just going to get promoted, forget that. Ticket revenue, advertising revenue, media exposure, sponsors contract, broadcasters contract etc. The champ play off is an absolute cash cow

Whilst a points deduction would inadvertently help safc next season( should “Saints” ?!get promoted) -it doesn’t do anything for the aggrieved party -in this case Boro .
It's already been said the EFL is a different to the premier league if they get promoted they can't deduct them points they can only be deducted points in the championship
