South Shields

As a kid South Shields was an exciting trip, had Seaton Sluice and Whitley Bay on the doorstep nearly but Shields, usually on a bus trip, seemed like another level. That was in the seventies, not sure it would hold the same sway now like.

Caravan sites are pretty full and guest houses on Ocean road often have no vacancies signs out--although that will often be contractors. Cracking spot for those that live inland--Son`s inlaws from Wolves were itching to get to the coast as soon as they arrived.
Shame the council cut back on the entertainment at the amphitheatre as it used to be cracking for 3 nights a week 10 Years ago, mostly "just" local bands now wheras previously they would be support for national turns.
Still have "household names" on in Bents park, well at least till covid.
Just the weather holds it back as per most of our seaside resorts in the North
