Disappointing from 111-5 but would probably have taken that after putting them in.

As ever our ropey batting line up the concern though.

Not seen any of this today but managed to listen to the last few overs commentary on talksport their commentators seem to think this is a good score the Staffers have got to.

Think we did well

We've not done badly. Some of the bowling has been poor but Curran did well. Whether 277-9 is a score that justifies sticking them in and us potentially having to chase on a pitch that is notorious for going up and down remains to be seen. Always hard to judge at the end of first innings

I think it was to be expected

Not a coincidence our best bowler was the lad who has played every warm up game

I’d still bat like. Only pays off if we bat once n big n there is enough in the pitch

Should be a good game 2 even sides

QDK was out mind unlucky there

Not much strategy to deal with de Kock, should have had them all out for 180 or less after being 111/5. They are a weak side, unless we come in and hit 400+ that's a bad toss decision again.

Exactly. Unless its a dodgy wicket and you fancy rolling over the opposition for sub 150, sticking them in first is a shite idea. How many times has Root done this and lost the match?

Archer will get better, he's still very early in his test career

This time last year Archer hadn’t even played for England. Within 8 weeks he had played a massive part in England’s only ever World Cup win and went in to have a very useful Ashes. He’s had two poor tests abroad on flat pitches. He’s doing really well but expectations were too high

It’s wrong that like, I know they had some reviews left, but with out a shadow of a doubt he would have knew he hit that and he was given out, imo it’s bad crack to review that!
