Philander is a world class bowler, turns it on at the big stage

his record is phenonmenal

bowled the Aussies out in Australia time after time few years ago, which not many do

Lets give the opposition sone credit instead of just slating our lads
I must admit I don;t think Sibley is test standard, you can see why they didn't want to pick him.

I don’t doubt he’s great, but he isn’t 0.125 runs an over amazing. We are intent on just blocking him every single ball - we always do this against bowlers we are scared of - instead of giving him something to think about. Go down, knock him off his length, and suddenly he won’t be as much of a threat. We’ve knocked Rabada somewhat so why are they hiding from Philander I don’t know.

to be fair I remember the critiism when they tried the exact opposite under Bayliss

You can do things without being silly. Under Bayliss they were just reckless. No reason you can’t move 2 steps down the crease without slashing at everything, for instance.
Denly has done it perfectly
 
I hope I’m wrong but already looking an odd decision to bowl first. We might make parity but really should be looking for 100 lead to justify that sort of risk.
