I think that depends on when they go to tender/submit amended plans. There's no real reason it couldn't start at some point next year, late on of course. It'll happen when it happens but I don't think it'll be yeslars and years away. Not if we continue improvement on the pitch.

If the on field plans stay on track I would imagine the timeline would be within 3 years to start the build.

Yep, it was me. Only what I was told back In late July. Basically that the screens will be the full size of the current’3screen’ format but done as 1 screen. I haven’t spoken with the person that told me this since then though, so I’ve no info on the progress.

Nah it was all very honest. We were all split into groups and were asked lots of things, but one of the big ones was what we don’t like about the Stadium of Light. Nee sugarcoating. I sit in the SWC so I had a list as long as my arm, as the concourse and facilities there are shocking.

Stadium itself is fine on the whole, but the concourses are not fit for purpose for a stadium of that size.

They miss out on so much revenue, I’ve been going to the Sol since day one and I’ve probably only spent a couple of hundred quid on the concourses and I’ve had a season ticket the majority of that time. I just can’t be arsed with the chew on, I don’t expect five star but even with the new lick of paint etc it still not a nice place to be especially when it’s rammed at half time or just before the game. They have aged badly, remember being blown away at the time as roker park bogs and food offerings were laughable but a few decades later and they’ve aged terribly.

Its always the same on here ..folk of rawa and roker report put the time and effort in and they get lambasted by many who dont have the inclination or time to get involved ..with the classic they "dont represent me" bollocks!They do represent Sunderland fans who are willing to go the extra mile and whilst and that in my book is laudable and they dont deserve the sniping from many on here!

Be somewhere on this thread but it's now a massive glass front on the entrance , it looks very different then the north stand

Yep ive seen those released plans but most of that is cosmetic stuff not involving major structural change and would involve discussions with the planner not full re submission..that is of course dependent if the original plans are still valid!

Yep, there is no structural changes to the plans, its the same as North Stand apart from extra rows of seats. The rear elevation detail will be submitted as an amendment to the original approved plans. Nothing major. The North Stand Extension plans changed several times after it was approved.

Im not a season ticket holder (live 330 mile away) but last season I got something from the club asking my opinion on new types of hospitality, and what would make me go to the stadium earlier - stay longer - type of thing to improve there stadium experience.

Seems bizarre that season ticket holders didn't get this ?

I thought(not 100% sure) this new set up had fewer seats 5500 rather than 7500 as they were adding bigger corporate ..but even this does not involve significant structural change to the original plans permissions?
