SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

@Cack Stottie you mentioned on the podcast being at a talk-in with Bruce and Ghisolfi earlier this week. What was said? Apologies if there’s another thread on it, must’ve missed it.

It wasn't a talk in really - it was the formation of a focus group based around improving atmosphere and stadium experience. There were about 30 fans invited to take part, and it was really productive. Was mainly just throwing some really good ideas about, there's another meeting in four weeks where they can come back to us with what they plan to do based on the suggestions.

If you didn't suggest free beer then I will be very disappointed

We have different plans now then previously for South stand , so as it's changed we by law must go through planning permission again
Where there's already been planning established in the past further changes are much easier. I don't forsee major issues even given the friction between club and council. It's in everyone's best interests

Interesting. Hand picked these fans were they?

Hypothesis: usual faces + old boys club + closed shop x secretive = the bulk of us will never have a clue what was said or acted on

Conclusion.
1 Club never learn
2 RAWA are like the freemasons

Think the.planning permission we had was probably very much like North

Even if things are great between us and the council, if the new designs are to believed, this would need to go through planning permission as it's a major change on the design .

That's just what I think and could be wrong

Nah. People with a high amount of loyalty points were invited.
No offense but theres been god knows how many chit chats now and im afraid the stadium experience is still pretty minging. Concourse needs knocking through and widening or let people out into a fenced area. E bars will help but only having 3 of them with queues round the block ! Poor execution as per. I went to a home game the other day my guest wanted a cup of tea we left our sears on the half time whistle and just got back to our seats as the players were coming out and felt like we'd returned from the trenches. Attitude of some stewards stinks aswell they are after a fight half of them. But good luck with more chit chats.

There are major changes and it would need further planning but there is precedent for planning already in place for that reason I think it'd be passed, that and the boost to local economy

How is picking the fans with the most loyalty points a bad choice? They are currently the most loyal by definition of having the most points. I’m not one of them by the way as much as I’d love to be, but at least the club are engaging and by asking fans who travel and see the most away grounds it sounds quite logical to me.

Fair do's. Didn't know how the picking worked.
It'll still be secretive

Unsure how going to loads of aways translates to SoL atmosphere mind. Should have identified a random bunch of ST holders and demographics in various stands

The fact Roker Report have a place still suggests to me it's same old clique on there too

I would argue a point against that slightly, I am on my 33rd straight year with a season ticket but that counts for nothing as been loyal as you don't accumulate points as i have only managed to get to a handful of aways in the last few seasons (my choice btw)...however i knew nothing about the meeting like most of us, its pretty shit not to be consulted as a loyal home supporter for 33 years about improvements to the stadium atmosphere and fan experience because I don't go to most away games

It would be passed but it would need to go through the standard procedure, it also depends on if we have detailed plans yet or we just have the AI photos.

Then we would have to go to tender etc, your probably looking at at least a year to start the thing

This is the first forum I’ve ever been a part of so can’t comment on what has gone on before. All I can say is that it was really productive, David Bruce and Florent Ghisolfi are really impressive people who have no problem forcing changes through if the think it’s going to help the team on the pitch. We’ve already seen it with the investment over the summer - I don’t think anyone can deny that the SoL is looking as good as it ever has done.

I get that as well, I’ve had an unbroken season ticket each season since I was 6 so I am in the same boat as you because I don’t get to as many aways, well not like I used to. I’ve got a respectable amount of points but generally not enough to get me tickets these days. It’s one of those situations where it feels like the club can’t win because there’s always someone going to complain and point out a reason they had been consulted. However, at least picking those with the most points feels as decent a selection as possible - and at least they’re involving fans at all.

Yeh thats fair enough mate i think the concern with them holding these chit chats is it always with a similar group who are obviously loyal and passionate fans which is great but perhaps that means they are a bit subservient. If they got a wider group representing more your average man in the street who doesnt go wide eyed they might get a few more hard truths about the staidum experience
