SOL expansion

For those saying we can’t sell seats we have, I think it’s about more than that. Our stadium already looks a bit tired.

The aim has to be for football and concerts and at each better facilities to draw people in to spend money in the stadium.

Seating needs to be less cramped and larger. Need larger concourses and space to eat and drink at the venue and dare I say it more toilets.

So expand make it better but not necessarily thousands of extra seats as per the original seat spacing in ground.

"In 2023 the Club was keen to investigate the possibility of developing a small secondary stadium with a capacity of 7,000 – 10,000 for use by its Ladies"

In this regard, reference was made by the agent to the obvious synergy that would exist if the facility could be located in close proximity
to the Stadium of Light. The initial response of officers was negative due to the fact
of the them emerging Sheepfolds proposals

Also very recently the club were discussing the possibility of an arena being built next to the stadium.
The long term vision of the club at the minute is fantastic. 10-15 years, if things go well, we could be looking at a 55/60k stadium with 5/10k arena round the corner

I’d be very surprised if this redevelopment doesn’t go through as the council leadership have proposed. They’ll be long gone by time people realise they’ve screwed us. Most people aren’t paying attention.
A middle ground will be met , this council generally have done a lot of good and won't want to get involved in an argument with the football club

Where would a 5/10k arena be built?

But they ultimately have the power here. They approve it and the noise around it dies down in the medium term. Not really a row once you OK it and get spades in the ground.

The knacker should be banned for impersonating someone else on numerous occasions. He literally offers nothing positive to the board (I don't mind mag fans on IF they show respect, don't pretend to be someone else, and talk sense) Pretending to be someone else on the internet is a weird sort of behaviour I don't think should be tolerated TBH. Mods should have banned the crack pot ages ago TBH.
Ah well, I reported him as it's tedious as fuck when he appears as it's the same shit and the same response.

I got told to challenge him or put him on ignore 🙄 At the mod who told me that (I have an idea who it is), do you not think the huge amount of responses from other posters is not enough? Note that ignoring the poster doesn't hide the replies from normal posters that litter the thread.

Why should I have to challenge him (I've done it in the past) when it's clear he's baiting? Also what do you mean by challenge? It's obvious he's trolling but what more can posters do than call him a sad knacker etc and usually it's our posters who get the warning and bans due to calling out the troll?

I've opened this thread to read about the SOL expansion, not 20 odd replies from different posters to the same sad attention seeking knacker who constantly trolls SAFC and bigs up Leeds. He's either a Leeds fan or even sadder a mag pretending to be a Leeds fan.

I'd like to know why this shit is allowed when it gets on the nerves of so many posters and spoils threads? To the mod in question feel free to PM me or reply in here as I hope it isn't simply because it creates more traffic.

Now the club have objected publicly absolutely no way the current plans are happening.

All objections will be now looked at and plans will be altered.
It's mental that the council want to put residential so close to the stadium. It's common sense that having anything close to the stadium will be an issue. If anything the buffer zone should have been bigger so that it cannot effect any expansion or any use of the stadium for non footballing purposes.

I still think it's because selling residential properties brings in money here and now, yet long term what will a few 100 people add to the economy compared to the non restricted option of SOL?

Extending the South stand will do nothing for concerts unless you want people looking at the back of a stage.

But why? Let’s not disregard all the positives and the major developments happening in the city. What really needs to happen is for the club and the council to reach an agreement on the necessary changes to the Sheepfolds plans, so both projects can move forward as soon as possible
Things are going great but if they stand in the way of my clubs future development, fuck the lot of them.

I'm in a new seat this season. It's in row 15 of the Jimmy Montgomery stand and is it's the back row up against the concrete walkway, it has a few inches of less leg room than the others, which I was not aware off when shelling out close to £800. I have to splay my legs apart and my knees are still crushed against the back of the seats in front and I'm just under 6 feet tall.

The fella sat on my right is going to become good friends with me, as our 2 seats are welded together with rust, so he has to sit down when I do 🤣

Deffo needs renovation like.

I honestly will be very surprised if they don’t come to an agreement. It’s not like the club object to the whole redevelopment. I’m desperate for both to happen so that’s my hope.

Nothing would surprise me about all of this, I'm more surprised that it's actually got to this point.
