SOL expansion

I don't know why this keeps on coming up.

There is no need for it whatever.

If we fulfill our absolute max potential we could get to the situation where we are selling out the existing SoL for most big games, but not enough to need an expansion even then.

We don't want to be playing games in a stadium that feels half empty.
Cos it’s not just about the regular supporter. Club has maxed out its already outdated corporate availability. They’d much rather have a few more empty seats and more corporate income. Especially if it tacks on a concert or two.

That’s because you have to jump through hoops to actually buy a ticket.
The other reason is the waste of seats not used due to the shite segregation policy.
You don’t see huge gaps between rival fans at grounds like The Etihad or Spurs. Why the fuck do we do it?
Oh aye, I forgot the fantasy of thousand being locked out and unable to buy a ticket...

I’d extend the south and SEC

Have the aways fans in the lower SEC & upper. It would bring on the Roker end having aways to bounce off

Fuck BCB off and have that open to regular fans with north stand rail standing.

We’d have two big home ends behind both goals

Obviously additional hospitality would bring extra cash in too
I think the club should retain a BCB type offering (premium package but not hospitality). Most clubs have such. Oh and I sit in there thank you very much. ;)

I can only tell you what I read when the stadium was first built, there's an image of the upper bowl complete & the scoreboard reading Sunderland 3 AC Milan 0

Yeah. But if you accept the South Stand and South West corner extension would add 6k, then it's unlikely that the South East corner, the East Stand and the North East corner would only add another 8k.

Not gunna argue, only added to the conversation with what I remember went the stadium was first built

We had about 8k empty seats last season with out average attendance. We don't need to spend a fortune on seats that won't be filled.

how have the club maxed out cooperate availability ?

quinns bar and the montogomery suite are regularly half full.

Building more boxes/facilities at the back of the east stand (no upper tier) with a re-work of the concourse underneath would make more sense.
It would be it would cost a fortune still. I haven't seen any indications that the ownership would be willing to invest such sums.

I have had kids at school continuously from 2002 until today and none of them have ever been offered or given free tickets. The most we were offered was 2 tickets for £15 (one adult ticket and one child ticket) & it's years ago since we were even offered those.
Fair enough, maybe they were subsidised by the school then, but I remember two occasions where I had a pair of tickets (QPR & Wolves) and sent the bairn with his mam because I already had my seat in the North Stand.

A complete rebuild of that stand with a spurs style home end would look fantastic and really improve the stadium.

Can't see it happening unless we're very successful as it would cost a lot.

Would look silly

I don't think people realise how much these expansions would cost these days.

Same people will be moaning we won't pay for a striker in 3 months time.
