This is the SUNDERLAND message board.

It isn’t interesting. They are going to be shopping at harrods. I could not give a fuck about them, go and have a read of skunkers if you’re so f***ing interested.

They will be pissing themselves that we’ve started multiple threads on this topic, like the titanic has hit an iceberg and some fucker wants to talk about a ship up the road that’s got poor quality deck chairs.

It's our forum, we can do what we want.

Looks like the mags won't be spending much money in the summer then. Unless of course they sell Gayle for £25m...

@Grumpy Old Man, did the mags alleged offshore payments / NI avoidance scheme only apply to players that have already left them?

I was really shocked to see the salaries and wages rise by such a huge percentage and wondered if they had had to restructure contracts of employment of players that were still at the club, to incorporate the costs associated with the alleged dodge therefore maintaining the net payment to the player and the club taking the increased liability? Just a thought.

I don't think so. I did originally think the £22m provision was something to do with the HMRC case but, as I said in the OP I think they've actually had to give some hefty wage subsidies to get players off the books who were on long term deals (much as we've been alleged to do). They've decided, quite legitimately, to take the entire cost last year, rather than as the payments fall due. If they were using a dodge to keep up a minimum net pay for a player (for obvious legal reasons I'm talking hypothetically here), it wouldn't look great in the face of a denial of all charges if certain players who were linked to the investigation suddenly got a huge pay rise. It's not impossible; i just don't think it's very likely.

Well at least more people are starting to take an interest in the finances of clubs. In the not so distant past any talk of finances was met with scorn on here, with only a couple of people interested in an important part of football

Haha. Would bet you any amount of money I went to more safc matches last season than you?

Wasn't being totally serious but still think to type up loads about their finances a bit sad.

When did finances become so important for fans anyway? It a new breed of modern fan in my opinion.

So because you don't want to read about it, it shouldn't be on here?.....yet there's still people posting about it and Grumpy was asked to do it so why not look past what you want or just read a different post?

Now that you know this one is of no interest to you, there's no need for you to be on it is there?

It won't be Rafa he can stamp his fat little feet as much as he likes :D mikes the boss
Ashley has said that he can have what the club generates. Before sales that will be, what? 30 million, maybe a little more. They have loads of players, many of whom Benitez signed. He will have to wheel and deal, like everyone else. I fail to see his problem.

Regardless,

The mags will be ran ok with Ashley.

The thick twats can’t see that.
