SMB Tennis thread

He's only ever lost three games there in his entire career, it's the perfect surface for his tenacious style.
Aye but he's now 36, was beaten last year, albeit that was due to a foot injury, got injured again in Rome a few weeks ago and got taken to 5 sets by Felix the other day who lets face it is hardly a top tier slam player. Think Rafa even said himself he was surprised at the level he played yesterday.

If Zverev knew how to volley he'd be pretty much exactly how you'd build a player to beat Nadal on clay.

Haway Rafa ffs.

This is dross.

First set was great for the most part, second set is just an all out physical slog on what seems to be the slowest court in the history of tennis. Over three hours for the first two sets of a match, can't remember the last time I saw that. Not many times you wouldn't fancy Rafa at a set apiece but this might be one of them if Zverev can get through here.

How a player with Zverev's ability, plays doubles as much as he does and trains with Marcelo Melo as often as he does is so appalling at the net is a complete mystery to me. Absolutely dreadful.
