SMB Tennis thread

This is the first really good opponent Serena has played and it's showing. Halep is moving Serena from side to side and she can't handle it.

She was fortunate that Barty and Kerber crashed out early as she was due to meet both by the QF, but I still wasn't expecting this start.

Riske is a good grass court player, but interestingly, Goerges was the only top 30 player Serena faced in reaching the final in both 2018 and 2019.

Maybe a hold here will settle her down, but probably too late for the first set.

There's obviously a few errors creeping in from Serena, but Halep is doing so well putting her in the position to make those mistakes. As Jonny Mac says, that point would have been won a couple of times against most others. Superb performance thus far.

She's currently getting smashed by Simona Halep, lost the 1st set in about 25 minutes! Big swing and miss, big swing and net, repeat. Occasional excellent shot thrown in. She can't run, all you have to do is move her around (easier said than done sometimes mind).

Sometimes she looks good, other times like a big lumbering carthorse whose never held a racquet.
