Looks goodJust got back from watching Sinners, great 8/10.
Better story line than Dusk til Dawn and a class mix of deep south blues and Irish music.

Though the after credits scene was unnecessary and sort of ruined the story a bit tbh.Sinners
Absolutely terrific. Action/horror film with a deeply political undertone, with first rate performances and great music throughout. (Think From Dusk Til Dawn, but not shit.) Might well be the film of the year so far.
(Hint: make sure you stay for the little extra bit during/after the credits, especially so for guitar fans, as it adds another little layer to the story)
9.5/10
I was nearly gone when the after credits scene came on!Though the after credits scene was unnecessary and sort of ruined the story a bit tbh.
Rest of film was very good. Jack O Connell plays an excellent hillbilly folk playing vampire psychopath.
Was basically a DTD rip off but done better. Though I did love it at the time, it hasn't aged very well.
I'd give it 8/10
Me too! I reckon at least 50% of the punters at the Omniplex last night had scarpered before that final scene.I was nearly gone when the after credits scene came on!

Lucky guess!I'm booked to see it this week and crossing my fingers for a guitar duel between Ralph Macchio and Steve Vai

Have you watched Oddity?Frewaka (2024). Irish folk horror on Shudder. Some eerie moments and good performances. If yer into folk horror it's worth a look.
Certainly more likely to happen now, Mahershala Ali’s Blade film looks dead in the water.Saw Sinners the other night. The music sequence was incredible, but apart from that thought it was pretty average and way too long.
Incidentally, Michael B Jordan would be class if they ever get round to making a new Blade.
Love that film, Ben Mendelsohn is class in it and I was shocked when I found out he was actually an Aussie.Starred Up.
Really bleak prison drama. Young lad goes to jail and meets up with his father who is doing life. Good film which I can’t say I enjoyed but found it interesting. Jack O’Connell always plays a great baddie.
Loved this - a 9 from me.Hell Drivers (1957) 8/10
UK's answer to The Wages of Fear. Cy Endfield directs a cast full of familiar faces (Stanley Baker, Herbert Lom, Patrick McGoohan, William Hartnell, Sid James, David McCallum, Sean Connery) as truck drivers working for a corrupt company that requires them to take ridiculous risks. It's halfway to being a classic. The driving scenes are great, but some of the melodrama falls flat.

I might give this another watch. I remember liking it, but slightly preferring the other Stanley Baker ‘Hell’ film - Hell Is A City. They have sod all to do with each other, I just happened to watch them both in the same week.Loved this - a 9 from me.
Full film on YT if anyone interested:

Hell is a City is decent but I didn't like the central villain. I've got a soft spot for Baker - Robbery was probably my favourite film of his before seeing HD.I might give this another watch. I absolutely loved Robbery. Joanna Pettet is the cherry on the cake. I really liked him in Jet Storm and Campbell’s Kingdom. I haven’t seen Accident or Violent Playground yet but they’re on the watchlist.Hell is a City is decent but I didn't like the central villain. I still haven't got round to watching 'Accident' yet - Baker and Dirk Bogarde directed by Joseph Losey.
