Slot sacked.

I think multiple factors resulted in LP underperforming and I think the main one was the death of Diogo Jota. I don't think its said enough the effect such a sudden death like that will have had on all those around and within the first team. It clearly derailed their entire season.

Slot should have been given another year and LP better not even think of coming for RLB.

I think that contributes a lot to what’s happened at Liverpool this season but I get the sense that slot is nowhere near as respected or strict as klopp was with the players. Salah had slots pants
Down at least 3 times with his social media rants and the entire energy at the club seems to have vanished. The team that popularised the gegenpress seems to rarely play attacking football anymore

I agree with this, but at the same time I reckon Fenway will also have factored this in and if things are that badly wrong, it’s actually strong leadership to act now. It would be quite easy to say ‘let’s give him another year’ but I just don’t think the players were having him. Tactically and the way he was setting them up, top players will be ruthless if they sense weakness and think that’s what did for him.

I bet Alonso is gutted he didn't wait a couple of more weeks before accepting the Chelsea job.
I don't think it would have mattered. If the hierarchy at Liverpool wanted him they would have gone for him.
Good. Sick of boring bassa football
This. All the Slots and Artetas of this world can do one.

Disclaimer: this only applies to big fish who should play like big fish and not small clubs e.g., Newcastle and the like.

Pochettino will be available after the world cup
Love the way Iraola had Bournemouth playing football ( certainly compared with bully boy Artetaball) but just wonder if going to Liverpool would be similar to Frank going to Spurs.
If the view is that Liverpool need a reset and clear out I’d be going for Conte

Style of football matters far too much at Liverpool to ever go for Conte. He also wants to spend a fortune everywhere he goes, complains about not getting everything he wants and leaves clubs in a mess.

The clear out will come from the Sporting Director, not an egomaniac falling out with people.

I don't get this at all, they could have sacked Slot at any point over the last 6 months, so why choose now when Alonso has already gone to Chelsea? Really poor decisions at the top there.
Gives me hope that we can compete consistently with the big boys if we keep improving as they're generally run abysmally.

Can't pretend I've watched Bournemouth much other than our 2 games against them but in both of those I was shocked at what a horrible non football side they were considering how many plaudits them & Brentford seem to get. They were very direct & kicked absolute lumps out of us in both games. Then the way he went on on the sidelines & in his interviews made Arteta & Silva seem like nice polite guys.
If they think he'll play 'the Liverpool way' they're hiring the wrong man.
Yes I think I’d say you definitely caught the worst of him that day. Genuinely a nice bloke, but like all managers can get a bit silly when things don’t go their way. It was just one of those days being 2-0 up and losing 3-2. Think he’ll do well at Liverpool, especially if they want a bit of that ‘heavy metal’ football back.

Well done on EL qualifying too! See you in the Semis eh, god knows what your gaff would be like haha.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm not that impressed with Ireaola (enough to think he can get Liverpool up there at the top again) I can still remember the antics he and his team got up to in the SOL match V Bournemouth, the shithousery on display that day got the result it deserved (A win for The Lads)
I'm not saying that he's incompetent like, but going from Bournemouth to LFC will test him.

Agree it is a risk
Remember when Mike Walker (very successful at Norwich ) was poached to work at Everton and was dismal as per Frank at Spurs
In Iraolas favour he has now had 2 successful manager jobs.. he’s far from a one off
Big job at LFC mind
Konate off and VvD fading fast so à new CB pairing obviously needed and fast
They have talent in midfield but no one holding it together. They need their own version of Xhaka
Reckon you lot should be getting shot of Moyes
Going nowhere fast
Defensively you look too slow imo
3 CB’s in a back 4 is Pulis stuff
