Bit like the 90s mags who think every manager has to play like keegan

Made it hard for Slot. He’s well on the decline. Tough for any manager to go up against that. Mind he isn’t the only one. They need a new keeper 2 x CBs. He’s made the next blokes job easier Salah and a declining Robertson gone.
Spot-on. He wasn’t publicly criticising him when he was winning the Premier League and Player of the Year the season before. His form fell off a cliff and it was the Manager’s fault.

I seem to be in the minority judging by the first couple of pages to say I’m surprised they sacked him despite their underwhelming season. Don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for winning the title. Aye it was Klopp’s assembled team but a new manager still has to get a tune out of the players and have them working for him. They’re a team in transition as well with many of their best players now over the hill and on the decline. Think he deserved another season to see how he done.

I agree with you, I think it would have been fair to give him one more season.

While yes they did underperform this year, they still qualified for the Champions League so all it's really cost them is about £18m, the difference in prize money between 1st and 5th.

They had terrible luck with injuries, and a lot of the new signings took a while to get going but towards the end of the season there were a lot more good individual performances.

Add in stuff like the death of Diogo Jota, which would have undoubtedly had a big impact on a lot of players, and the ageing squad with several key players on their way out.

Not giving him another season just feels like a strange decision.

Good post tbf. Collectively they are on the decline. Goalie seems to be injured loads. CBs aren’t particularly great. Robertson and Salah aren’t what they were. Salah has gone on like a helmet but is nowhere near what he was. Not sure they’ve spent their money well. Didn’t really need Isak as funny as it was.

The financial implications nowadays mean it's very tough school..Great as this season has been if we are struggling early doors next one wouldn't surprise me to see RLB gone by December time
Yeah I mean it’s clear to see RLB doesn’t have the respect of the new signings. He’s weak.

Remember that classic? ;)

Hope we can underperform and end up in the Champions League next season.
