The very first thing he should do is apologise. Something Cummins never managed. Then some appropriate level of penalty should be paid. If a politically neutral power deems that to mean the loss of his job, then so be it

I think the only thing that could possibly distract anyone from the governments failings is a giant meteorite on collision course with the planet.

This hasn't distracted anyone - all it's done is highlight that hypocrisy and stupidity are not just limited to politicians of one particular leaning.

On basis that bbc covered story as early as 15th June bit of a stretch to say it’s just been bought up now!

probably does explain Though why he’s been opposing the potential lockdown of Leicester since Hancock made everyone aware that there was a problem
