Listened to it in a few days while I walked around LisbonTold the missus to stick it on Christmas list. The audible version is supposed to be superb as he narrates it himself

I think you might be a bit of a lone voice there.. Vic struggles on panel shows and the like.. he always appear to try too hard and struggles to be as quick wittedI prefer Vic but they're both better together than working separately.
Also this, I would imagine:Vic isn't actually that interested in doing comedy any more. Maybe that's why whenever he's appeared on stuff in the last decade it's felt a bit dialled-in. He pretty much concentrates on being an artist now, which was always his real love.
There's a brilliant recent interview with him on the Adam Buxton podcast. A very thoughtful and funny man when just talking normally:

I went to the Hammersmith Apollo for shooting stars live years ago with Ulrika and I think mark lamarr at the timeThink I’ll go with the audiobook.
Seen the pair of them at the city hall a few year ago and it was superb. Vic/Jim cracked an ad lib joke to Bob and he was pissing himself laughing, which led to everyone else laughing along even though we hadn’t a clue what was said.
Was that the show that was also half Fast Show live? If so, I was at that as well.I went to the Hammersmith Apollo for shooting stars live years ago with Ulrika and I think mark lamarr at the time
was that the one where Bob's tache fell off?Think I’ll go with the audiobook.

Now you have mentioned it there may have been a fast show combo . I wasn't really into the cast show at the time so wa there for Vic and Bob..Was that the show that was also half Fast Show live? If so, I was at that as well.
I just started the physical book last week and enjoying it so far. I'm tempted to do the audiobook at some point if it's him reading it, as I can imagine he brings something extra to it. Curious how they do things like photos - presumably they can't...there's a couple of funny, typically Bob, random photos in amongst all the normal formative years stuff, like a "nice pie," a blackhead remover, and a packet of segs. Nutbucketry of the highest order![]()
Aye come to think of it, I’d like to know what Vic said for Bob to go in such a kink.was that the one where Bob's tache fell off?

It wouldnt have been ad-libbed.Aye come to think of it, I’d like to know what Vic said for Bob to go in such a kink.
If true, it was fantastic timing and well executed. It wouldnt have been ad-libbed.
The tache coming off was part of the act and made to look like a mistake![]()
I'm quite enjoying him with Jools Holland on the Jools' and Jim's Joyride podcast at the moment, and I think that's probably more his pace and can be edited to suit, but I agree that Bob comes across as more naturally witted in a live situationI think you might be a bit of a lone voice there.. He was pretty good on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown. I'd say I laughed more at Vic than most of the other guests they've had on. Apart from that nut Adam Riches who calls himself and parodies Sean Bean. His act was so daft it was hilarious.I think you might be a bit of a lone voice there..
