Side for the 2nd test then?

I came back from the cricket, had not logged on for 24 hours, and had been tagged 3 times by you.
If you check back, you’d posted a few “told you so” posts at me when Bairstow was batting, I returned the favour thinking we were jesting, but you obviously got upset by it.

Shouldn’t take it too seriously, buttercup.

I wasn't offended like, just the thread was utter chaos like, I have nothing against you at all. Entitled to your opinion.

Wood in for Jimmy ( let jimmy build up his bowling in the nets for test 3).

I'd have woakes or tongue in for Ali but seems like theyve already picked him if fit.

Mccullum has backed Bairstow as Wk, so unless he has an absolute shocker Foakes wont play any part this series

They'll either go unchanged or play Wood for Ali.

I sort of get why they persist with Crawley and he was good in the first innings, but for me there are a fair few I'd have ahead of him and Foakes should be in there, so he'd be the one I'd jettison. But Key loves him, so.

Hopefully the likes of Bairstow will be more match fit at Lords.

Think they will change one bowler and pick Ali again personally would change Broad & Robinson miles below their best.

But at present we are to loyal and stubborn on things. They would still give Bairstow the gloves third test if he has another nightmare.

Auto correct obvious meant Jimmy and robo Broad was head and shoulders best seamer.

After all the talk id defs pick Robinson

His career shows his class, wasn’t at his best but still took 5 wickets at 20 this test.

Broad and Wood too.

I’d be very tempted to play Curran at 8 and let root bowl spin but they won’t

Wood for Anderson and Livingstone for Ali, Root and Liam can handle spinning duties between them.

I suspect we'll be unchanged.

We can and we will.
Decent shout on Livingstone. i would be happy with that but he doesn't seem to be the conversations. Not that i'm privvy to the conversations like.

On the basis we should never have played the first test without either Wood or Tongue, then Wood should come in for Jimmy. I think Jimmy's place generally will come under more threat as he cant bat and his best years are gone. The young leggie should play instead of Ali especially if Stokes is asking for flat tracks as a leggie may have more joy. If you look at Ali stats from the first test the leggie could have matched if not bettered it

Stokes needs to take more responsibility with the bat if he is not going to bowl much. The odd swashbuckling knock his far below his capabilities ie, I cant remember him scoring any meaningful runs since the last Ashes at home

Btw first test showed how big of a miss leach is, he’d have bowled all game, and we’d have won comfortably in my view with the spin on offer

@Voice of fair play think people just take for granted how he’s easily the best spinner in the country

And we are scrambling round with a bloke who has not played for 2 years and an 18 year old who has took 6 wickets in division 2

I’d actually argue he’s the 1 bowler we couldn’t afford to get injured
