Side for the 2nd test then?

Woakes and Wood have to play, Broad was our best bowler but he looked exhausted I’d rest him and Jimmy.
Dawson in for Ali and top 7 unchanged.

I think they'll pick the same team but Wood should be picked ahead of one of Anderson or Robinson, I don't think we can rely on Root as our spin option given Stokes is struggling to bowl any meaningful amount of overs.

I would also not bother with Moeen but the complete lack of alternatives is almost staggering. Ahmed and Parkinson are in no form, Liam Dawson is the best performing English spinner in the country so far this season and he is nowhere near test class.

What are we going for?

Crawley
Duckett
Pope
Root
Brook
Stokes
Bairstow
Rehan
Wood
Robinson
Broad
Assuming the pitch is very similar i would go for this. If there's something in it then Jimmy in the discussion. i would also like to know if Bairstow's injury is related to his performance - it seems to me his movement wasn't very good. If this is something that is going to continue then he can't keep wicket.

Aye I agree with this Bairstow really struggled keeping wicket which I think is probably down to the injury he had as previously he has been a good keeper for England.
I can’t see them changing anything though in the top 7

wood comes in, I’ll let them judge for who tho, broad has to play

I guess you could play wood for Ali if he’s not fit, as root bowled well agains the left handers

I certainly wouldn’t be bringing in Ahmed or someone.

Same top 7 tho.
Just admit this is the first game ive ever watched and thought Jimmy looked more his age in the field and bowling

I couldn’t help think late in day 5 if Potts was running in we might have won
