Should we get rid of the 1p and 2p coins?

After getting change from the self service machine in Sainsburys this morning, I'm all in favour of getting rid of them. 6 x 2p + 3 x 1p in 55p worth of change ffs!

Own daft fault for using cash. Ive never used cash at self service.

We just hoy the coin in the coinstar and get a load of buffet food once a year for the punters. Nee hardship for us.

I genuinely have no idea why people use coinstar machines. Surely just lazy or stupid.

You could just pay with the copper coins?! Or HSBC has a machine you just pour all the coins in and it counts it. And get this- actually gives you the amount! It doesn't charge you for it!

I've read some of it. Would Tesco refuse to sell you something if you tried to pay in shrapnel? I'd be surprised if they did.
