Short Is Failing Us

If he doesn't appoint a good manager/head coach then I think it's time for him to call it a day and get out.

He's sold Mignolet and Sessegnon and failed to replace them.

We needed more quality and we've brought in bargain basement players.

There is no communication and there appears to be no direction. Commercially we may be doing well but that will count for very little if we are relegated which is looking inevitable.

Very disappointing.
If he leaves where is the money coming from? Answer that![DOUBLEPOST=1396716250][/DOUBLEPOST]
Like Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Forest, Derby and Leicester? Nothing is certain.
I agree, nothing is certain, perhaps he is not old enough to remember when we were in the old third division, with attendances of 20000.

Let's keep him so he can run us into the ground instead then.

the buck firmly stops with Ellis Short for this, the OP is bang on. He's the man at the top. He appointed Paolo Di Canio, Margaret Byrne, Keith Lemon. Gradually sold our main assets since January 2011 and allowed managers or whoever to waste millions on crap/bang average players in the process

Ellis Short is the first person to blame before anyone else

Fookin ridiculous statement by OP
What's ridiculous about it?[DOUBLEPOST=1396724487][/DOUBLEPOST]The OP has made a statement that I'm fully behind, short hasn't covered himself in glory, he's surrounded himself with the wrong people which has wrecked the premier league status of our club, if someone one had told him to remove the players before the management then we wouldn't be in this mess.

"Selling your best players is a relegation model" lol

keane was spot on, and walked now we no why  still miss him like, would take him back tomorow:cool:

Actually Short has put alot of money in, was badly advised and I don't fully blame Short. People around him must be like vultures or like taking candy from a baby.

He's obviously a brilliant businessman, but he knows fuck all about football. If he wants to turn this around, he needs to find somebody to advise him, somebody trustworthy and who knows the game inside out. Think I'll give him a bell :D

Surely as a business man you look at the credibility of those closest to you, if you can't get that right what hope have you got for future-Bugger all that's what.[DOUBLEPOST=1396726371][/DOUBLEPOST]

Aye he sacked Bruce who was taking us down as we had been shite for a year, appointed MON who the world and his wife wanted who turned out to be an out of touch dinosaur who had to go as he was taking us down and then appointed PDC who kept us up and then turned out to be a lunatic who he quite rightly sacked........

And in doing so has spent a shitload of money.............

What would you have done differently.........

Feel sorry for Short in a way, he's put his money in and had fuck all back. He knows nowt about football so has to rely on those who (allegedly) do.

Short should have gone all out to keep Quinny on board. He knows our game, has an empathy with the club and (I think) has the respect of the supporters. He may not be a footballing genius but he couldn't have done any worse than the people who have been advising Short...

Like I said, respect the bloke for sticking by us. But last year he definitely didn't make a 'loss' that's for certain.
Instead of making things up, read the accounts for the last few years. Short is £100-150m down since he bought us, depending on how much is against the club.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it. Every appointment in football is a risk, look at Man U, who knows more about the game and that club than SAF, but 7 days ago they all wanted Moyes out.

All these decisions people are criticising now cos they haven't panned out, they didn't say fuck all at the time, if the same posters had been sitting next to Short at the time they'd probably have been nodding in agreement, but now they're all experts. Where were these oh so brilliant insightful threads when people were posting about having a pint with Short before the final?[DOUBLEPOST=1396742075][/DOUBLEPOST]
Results support my statement sadly. For the record, that statement was made in October and nothing has changed.
Aye cos every fucker's head was down in October, then it was all quietly forgotten when we looked like picking up. Results go bad again, hindsight kicks in again and out come these threads.

We've been in the relegation zone all season...

And I was critical at the time. And he is due criticism now. Massively so.
