Short Is Failing Us

I don't think we could have made a better one, other than pulis who would have kept us up, but unlikely to have been accepted. Poyet should have been appointed when we sacked o Neill. Short thought about it, but presumably baulked at the compensation. If only he had his time again, 2 million quid, we would have been a absolutely fine this season
we will never know , quite alarmed at how Poyet is waving a white flag and appalled at his team selections and persistence with certain individuals , Short made an approach for Hoddle initially so Poyet was never first choice

Hoddle? Where'd you get that info?

If he doesn't appoint a good manager/head coach then I think it's time for him to call it a day and get out.

He's sold Mignolet and Sessegnon and failed to replace them.

We needed more quality and we've brought in bargain basement players.

There is no communication and there appears to be no direction. Commercially we may be doing well but that will count for very little if we are relegated which is looking inevitable.

Very disappointing.

the final decision to sell players falls with the manager not the owner....you seem to missing that all short does is pump money into the club and doesnt (and rightly do) have any say on who is brought into the club....its not short who is failing us... it was PDC....DI fanti.... angelori...the players...and some will argue poyet...now 3 of them have gone and in the summer most of the players will be too

if short was picking players to sell and players to buy im sure you would have posted this thread saying he shouldnt be buying and selling players, so really he cant win....lets remember without him we would have been fucked a very long time ago

only criticism short should get is the hiring and firing of managers and in all fairness....everyone wanted MON so were happy with that appointment...he could have sacked him earlier....he brought PDC in to keep us up and he did (and yes PDC should have gone in the summer)....he sacked PDC 95% of people were happy about that too and he appointment poyet who will turn out IMO to be a very good coach/manager in the years to come.

MON was considered a good manager so who do you consider to be a good, realistic candidate?

You are extremely naive if you think the decision to sell players lies with the manager.[DOUBLEPOST=1396643997][/DOUBLEPOST]

Read the date of that post...

He was considered when we appointed PDC. hoddle was a tentative enquiry, but we were immediately brushed off. No idea if he ever spoke to Poyet back then, but short was a fan and was considering him. I would say it will probably be his defining moment on charge of the club, and not in a good way

couldn't agree more.

If this last 3 years had happened under Murray the stick he'd have got on here would have been unreal

yes and there would of been protests, but this isn't that era, and we are shit scared of looking like the mags we don't dare stand up and fight for a cause, wasn't a problem back in 2006 mind, but that was another life.

Granted I had not noticed the date but my post still applies!

I still think Poyet needs time so it doesn't apply.

As for O'Neill, £30m spent on Fletcher, Johnson, Graham and N'Diaye wasn't the best was it?[DOUBLEPOST=1396645813][/DOUBLEPOST]

Spot on.

I'll think you'll find his first choice was Gash Megson. About as plausible so hey, why not.

We would be one of the best options for any potential buyer if we do go down, can't believe you don't realise that tbh

We'd only be a good option if short wanted very little back. Unless someone big with massive amounts of money to throw around then it won't happen - short is a very good businessman and won't sell up on the cheap after the amount he has invested

i honestly don't think he's going anywhere regardless, he's put too much time & money in to walk away

Sick of being persecuted as a mag for standing up for the fans, yes we have no god given right to do well in anything, but ffs we are getting pissed on by the people who run our club because they know we'll suck it up and be back, the only way to stop the disease that has plagued the club for years is to hit them where it hurts, only then will the changes start to happen.
