That makes sense. I wonder why they gambled and is this the reason they were able to sign Siddle so quickly?

Currently making his comeback for Victoria against New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield.( 13 overs 1- 48) The NSW side includes the man with the big bat- Nic Maddinson who managed 19 in the first inns)
May be too risky a signing to get Boland back in 2025 but we're going to need someone of his calibre in the bowling department.

It's a very nasty injury, truth be told I'd be wary signing him as it could flare up at anytime and it's bloody horrible

Looks like my tip for the overseas bowler has signed for Notts. Pity would have been idea in English conditions.
Short term deal for 1st 4 games because Dale Pattison is unavailable because of commitments with South Africa. So presumably Bedders will also be unavailable

Yeah just read he is filling in at the start of the season although i have checked the schedule and South Africa don't apoear to have any fixtures April or May. Also would be unusual as its IPL time.
Yeh,Notts it appears using the fact that Pattinson has been recalled by Saffers as a reason not to 're-engage him. Seems we'll still be seeing Bedders.

Just came to post exact same question. Now Boland is back in the test frame can't see Cricket Australia allowing him to play in the County Championship given his underlying foot condition.

At the November meeting North said that the signing of Boland was virtually completed - however this was before his call up. Seeing as how that was nearly 3 months ago it looks like he won't be coming. North also said that they had 'irons in the fire' with another couple of overseas bowlers if Boland couldn't come.
According to the latest Cricketer magazine, Durham are still in negotiations with Boland but he only wants a short spell prior and in preparation for the World test championship in June whilst Durham required him for a longer spell. Seems negotiations have reached an impasse -think we need to be looking elsewhere.
Time to move on from him
He's playing in the Plunkett Shield but his figures aren't impressive. 12 wkts at 38 per wkt.
And he'll be 39 year old next week.
