The fans are the only group that weren't "made morons" of tbh. Donald and Methhead could have simply told the truth about the Parachute payments instead of wanting to appear bigger than they were by claiming to be able to pay more than they were capable of. You know, by saying "the parachute payments have been used to pay off debt..." instead of "the parachute payments belong to the club and will be utilised by the club as soon as we pay the next installment on the deal."

Stop making stuff up and attackint the fans trying to defend that pair of idiotic used car salesmen shysters. :lol:

exactly..donald wanted to feel like a big man doing £40mn deals..so he said "we gave short £40mn"
club wasnt debt free even then though...they owed money on some players signed under the previous regime..but in accounting terms that money owed may be trade creditors rather than debt..but its still money owed..

the parchute payments were used to pay off a club debt..nowt to do with installements on any deal..

No club has ever been sold and every single trade creditor paid up before the previous owner left. The debt free was in relation to the millions we owed Short that he wrote off and the loan that was paid with parachute money.

As for you clear support for all things Madrox, I personally wouldnt piss on them if they where on fire. Sold everything that had a value, setting the youth teams back years, lied about how much the bought the club for. Just colossal wankers

If any Charlton fans think we are bitter after they have left, need to read a host of threads on here, while they were still here, and how they got caught out telling lies left right, and centre. Good luck to Charlton. A decent club, and a decent fanbase, but my advice is don't trust him.
 
Upper class moron embarks on a project, fails spectacularly, alienates everyone with his awful personality, manages to avoid any disastrous consequences so comes to the conclusion he is a genius after all and it’s everyone else’s fault. Upperclass moron starts the same project somewhere else. Rinse and repeat.

Based on performance and merit he should be on the bones of his arse worrying about his utility bill, but he was born into a situation where he will never have to.

It's about 60% accurate, The broad thrust is right, but some crucial details aren't.

In no particular order

1. The bank debt was £80m. not £90m
2. Short moved £25m into Drumaville, not £20m
3. Madrox has never had a bank account for money to pass through, Anything that looks like cash that went through Madrox is a paper transaction reflecting amounts due to the entities the cash actually came from direct to/from Short or SAFC.
4. They've got the intercompany loan balance the wrong way round - it was of course owed by Madrox to the club.
% Charges from both Short and SBC over Sunderland/SAFC assets existed until August 2019, when Short finally handed the £25m over on the expiry of the loan period. It's one of the pieces of evidence that Short did not in fact clear all of the debt. So to say we were lien free when Madrox acuired the club is almost negligent; a simple search on charges at Companies House would have revealed that.
6. KLD acquired the club in January 2021, not summer 2022.

Som much detail is wrong it could have been drafted by Donald, for whom detail was about as relevant as it is to Boris. I don't think CM had a hand in it; in conversation he always seemed detail conscious.

Why should the parachute payment have went exclusively to paying the loan though? Some of it could have went to that while the majority could have went on the team or infrastructure. Surely, that's the reason they lied in the first place as they would have had to face these questions from day one. Wasn't using the parachute payments the way we did against league rules as well? How they expected to keep lying and get away with it unbelievable tbh.

The loan needed repaying or renegotiating, something had to pay it

It didn't. The total parachute payment that season was arounf £37m
 
Slightly tangentially but CM talked about having cancer which made his time even harder. Was it that serious ie life threatening or just say a basal cell carcinoma?

If they had any ambition instead of trying to flip for a quick profit, thwy could have run the club in the anger it should have been run instead dof trying to flip it for a quick profit.
