Pretty sure his role is to make sure they're ok and watch them play football and report back. Don't think he decides who goes out or where they go to, does he? He doesn't run the academy, he isn't involved in coaching in any capacity, but he's culpable for the academy being a joke, is he?

The youngsters leaving is purely down to SD, the academy will be closed by the end of the year if we don't have a takeover.
Arsenal have restructured their academy in the last 12 months. If we have any thoughts about making the academy successful we should hire some of those guys who have lost their jobs at the arse

I think the problem is GOM is a lot more intelligent than most of us so when people don't quite understand they think the appropriate response is to give him shit because of their limited knowledge of finance.
I for one wish I understood a lot more because then what he is explaining would be so much more informative.
Thanks GOM for all your imput, I may not understand it all but I sometimes get the jist of it
The really intelligent people are those who simplify the complex stuff in life.

They probably live in London and earn money that isnt minimum wage, maybe our new owners (please god) would see the sense in paying the money

Gut feeling is neither of these bids will be successful. We need new owners desperately but right now because of the salary cap we so need Parkinson to step up to the plate. Not his biggest fan but I do think he’s capable of getting us up. How deep the pockets of our owners are will really only be relevant once we return to the championship IMO
The cap is a convenient excuse to refuse to spend from our current owners who never had any intention of spending in any case.

New owners will not be put off by such trivialities nor will they be unable to do the necessary to get us out of this festering pustule of a league.

something to consider re: selling madrox - everyone signs up to a Shareholders agreement which can override the percentages on issues like this.

For example, I have a shareholders agreement that guarantees one particular investor a say in any sale, so I can't force it through unless they agree, even though I hold enough to do so in theory. It's called a 'special majority'.

It's possible that Donald may be able to force it through regardless of the % he holds, or it could be that he can't do it without Sartori agreeing, even if he has 80% of the vote.

So essentially percentages may not matter as much as the agreement they have about these key decisions.

It will only take one player to take action against the EFL for restriction of trade in the courts and the salary cap will be history. How can the EFL impose restriction os your employer telling you how much you can earn?

Of course. You don't need a degree in employment law to realise that such a blanket, soviet style directive is not legal.

If we don't challenge it we agree with it, whatever anyone at the club says.

I just don't get what people get out of trying to wind posters up on here !
if you choose to belive, or not in the case, who cares ! its an Internet message board. not real life...... nobody has died, just read the post, make your own opinion, and move on in life
I enjoy reading little snippets of info here and there, it brightens up the day, but i certainly don't let it get to me either way, I have other things going on in my life far more important to get on with
thanks to prehab and rubber for their input. its appreciated greatly, they shouldn't receive the shit they do for posting in good faith though ! its clear they are good lads, who don't bullshit. care about the club ,and genuinely just want safc to do well
Dunno, looks like it's been deleted from this thread
what did it say?

You only have to look at and read most employee handbooks when you start a new job to see that there will be or are rules contained within that make it unenforceable.

I fail to see how anyone can be in favour of being punished because clubs cannot control their own finances. They should not be restricted and players should not be financially worse off because of it. It’s a farce and was voted by clubs who cannot compete financially with the bigger clubs in the league and that is how it was passed, because the majority of them can’t
In a lot of respects this changes very little as I would imagine they will cut back on all areas of finance including players wages so they keep their head above water and will spend the minimum they can . We should still have an advantage as we can spend up to the cap the other clubs in a lot of cases can’t afford to particularly as revenue is being hit due to no fans attending their games .

If you are cutting back on players wages then the standard of player reduces and since it doesn’t apply to relegated clubs, they will always have the advantage. My point still remains, why should all clubs be controlled in such a way so as to prevent them from overspending and attracting a points deduction. They need to get their own house in order before dictating how others should look. Everyone is responsible for their own accounts, if you don’t control that then that’s your business. It’s like telling Asda, Tesco, M&S that they have to reduce all of their pricing to exactly match that of Lidl
