Cheers for the messages people. Appreciated. Bit of a sore head this morning. Cracked screen too. No good.
People give you shit like but you’re an asset to this boardIf Madrox is being sold, then Donald can simply sell his shares and the buyers get 74% ownership of it, and de facto control of Sunderland, but with two minority shareholders. 74% is awkward; it doesn't give them the control that 76% does. Methven's shares would give them that. If Methven is a problem, Sartori is the key; if they can get his shares it takes them past 90%, and they can buy out Methven compulsorily. On the other hand, if Madrox is selling its shares in Sunderland, then it's down to whether any vote is by the directors (one man, one vote) or the shareholders (one share, one vote).
In reality, Donald can do what the wants; he has enough shares in Madrox to remove Sartori and/or Methven as directors if he had to to get a sale of Sunderland to his preferred bidder.
His son's already doing a cracking job of sportswashing in boxing.
No matter who I’m charge this new salary cap remains a massive problem for the bigger clubs in the league , especially for us , it’s a right farce

Finally a post from GOM that I can understand most of the time its far too intelligent for me to get past the first lineIf Madrox is being sold, then Donald can simply sell his shares and the buyers get 74% ownership of it, and de facto control of Sunderland, but with two minority shareholders. 74% is awkward; it doesn't give them the control that 76% does. Just pay very big bonuses for one single cup victory. Job done.
Not really. Means we have to get better at player recruitment and tactical strategy rather than pay more dosh than others for players. Maybe will help us nit go under with paying over the top. Theres also other ways to give them more dosh if we really wanted to.No matter who I’m charge this new salary cap remains a massive problem for the bigger clubs in the league , especially for us , it’s a right farce

He’s doing an awful job, tbf.
I think the problem is GOM is a lot more intelligent than most of us so when people don't quite understand they think the appropriate response is to give him shit because of their limited knowledge of finance.People give you shit like but you’re an asset to this board
You confident we would get that victory?
I fail to see how anyone can be in favour of being punished because clubs cannot control their own finances. They should not be restricted and players should not be financially worse off because of it. It’s a farce and was voted by clubs who cannot compete financially with the bigger clubs in the league and that is how it was passed, because the majority of them can’tNot really. Im all in favour of it tbh
He’s also overseeing our use of academy loans at a time when any young player with promise is deciding that there is little future at Safc. He may not be a big part of that but he’s likely to be a part. Sadly that’s much more impactful to safc right now than some nice words from a successful Jordan.
And Reid and Fox.Pretty sure his role is to make sure they're ok and watch them play football and report back. Don't think he decides who goes out or where they go to, does he? He doesn't run the academy, he isn't involved in coaching in any capacity, but he's culpable for the academy being a joke, is he?
The youngsters leaving is purely down to SD, the academy will be closed by the end of the year if we don't have a takeover.
Who on earth’s given him shit?!People give you shit like but you’re an asset to this board
Surely if, as you say, he had been under utilised he should have considered his position within the club. I know if it were me I'd be considering mine.....His injury, knee or hip I think, that needed addressing led him to step down from the coaching role and into being designated "club ambassador ". Your correct, he was a stand out professional for the Club but by being the Club ambassador required him to , as you put it, "sit at the end of the table" that would do my head in if I'd been used to coaching every day but my beef, if it is a beef is that he,overall Ball with others have been found wanting in producing on a consistent basis players to go into the first team squad. that were Sadly as a coach that has not been the case. Other club academies seem to do it well, even Frank Arnesen, in the short time he was at the academy, seemed to understand what was wrong and tried to be implementing a different approach. He too found it a struggle to change the academy mindset. Whoever eventually takes over needs a root and branch clear out of the "Good professional" approach and to a "winning mentality" throughout the whole club.Fair enough, he has been at the club a long time so maybe a freshen up wouldn’t be a bad thing. I just think he’s been under-utilised these last few years. Its a while since he was directly involved in the academy, which he only left to sort an injury out iirc. Even if he’s a poor coach or scout, he knows the standard needed to be a good pro and certainly knows what qualities are needed to be a success here. Even if not the main man, his last couple of years would have surely been more beneficial in an around the academy, as opposed to sitting on the end of the table at talk ins.
Not if Billy gets in charge marra, he has ways and means of getting around that...heard him on the radio. No matter who I’m charge this new salary cap remains a massive problem for the bigger clubs in the league , especially for us , it’s a right farce
