People like yourself sat on here all day waiting for him to post and hurl abuse.

he contributed massively and what he was saying weeks and weeks ago and what I’m hearing this morning /what Storey alluded to seems as though it could possibly the case.

The fans will see it as shuffling the chairs around rather than a takeover if me joining the dots up proves to be the case.

hope Rubberface is right mind as we all need to move on

What did it say

Seems likely to me with the timelines. Donald saying there was currently no interest then within a week or 2 entering a period of exclusivity. Then all the rumblings R.E. Sartori...

as always with Bob, he does get things right, he also gets things wrong, that never bothers me as we all know things change.
Now I’m not speaking fri other posters but the way he goes on irks, his criticism of fans/posters, his fanboi loving of DJ Metheid and Stewy man child irks people. His insistence of Nixon working for the chronicle wa say best misguided and at worse a blatant lie to cover his arse.
May I suggest if and when he does return under another guise he just says what he knows rather than thinking he’s Sherlock Holmes and talking in riddles, he may find he doesn’t get half as much criticism.
Just my thoughts..

There’s one saying the exclusivity rights are not with Gray’s lot, quoting the new club secretary. It sounds dubious to me that’s all but maybe fits with the reason Gray and Co aren’t first choice. Could Irish include former owners, former players or ex manutd connections ?
Absolutely no idea mate, just got the little snippet of info re the nationality.

Last I heard Quinny was trying to get rich “Irish“ money from all ower the world and at home involved in Irish clubs. Get the diaspora interest. American, Canadian, Australian etc “Irish” billionaires tied in with a club from where their ancestors called “the old country” if possible. If not then any club or league sponsorship.
The recent news of a possible all-Ireland league may be part of that.
I think the idea is not only to give Irish kids a chance to get noticed but to give them a credible option other than L1 & L2 football. This wage cap won’t do an all-Ireland league any harm.

Ball knows what side his breads buttered on. He’ll not be praising the current regime ower much now that there’s a few new ones on the arrival. I’d expect his cv to be hoyed in for an academy job next time around.
I think he has outstayed his time up here for a long time now.. The clincher for me was when he and Ross attended a fans meet up a little before Ross was sacked. All he did was protect Ross from answering a question from the audience with a straight answer. You could never knock his leadership on the field but other than that, his time at the academy has been not very good. His attempt as a manager was not good. As an ambassador for the club he has said all the right things when asked but you can see that from any player interviewed before or after any game on TV. I thought he would have been more vocal as a fans favourite these past months but then again I suppose he has a living to earn. I would suggest not at the expense of our club.

Again, who knows if this will end up happening, but:

Imagine how loved young Mickey will be if he's part (even a small, largely ceremonial part) of bringing new ownership to the club at this stage.

Goal against the mags, capped by England while at SAFC, brought the billionaires in the get rid of SD and co. Legend status?
Already a safc legend. Statue if this comes off 😜

I disagree with your comment about him not being good with the academy. The lad who has just lifted the European cup and premier league has regularly named him as one of the biggest influences on his career.

If he’s had that effect on JH it’s madness that we have him in his current hand shaking role when we could be using him to shape the next generation.

What would he gain from speaking out about the current owners and Short before, he's employed by them it isn't for him to be giving it 'aye lads they're shit'.

How exactly was his time with the academy not very good? Any decent player who has come out of the academy has done nothing but praise Ball for helping to mould them into the player they are.

At the end of the day he's here to shake hands and be friendly, not a voice of the fans.

It’s getting more and more confusing to keep up !

Its either:

FPP deciding to complete a takeover
Micky G and his wealthy middle eastern pals
Satori buying a few more shares to keep SD at the table
A mysterious Irish group
The mad pop man and his blue chip backing band

None of the above and it’s all complete fabrication
Nobody mention the germans

He’s also overseeing our use of academy loans at a time when any young player with promise is deciding that there is little future at Safc. He may not be a big part of that but he’s likely to be a part. Sadly that’s much more impactful to safc right now than some nice words from a successful Jordan.

Don’t forget the OBriens.

I assumed he's just been a glorified bodyguard for some time now. Not only is he fairly handy more importantly he has the respect of fans, anyone wanting to have a go verbally at Short, or Bain or Donald/whoever would probably be fairly quickly pacified by Ball and his calming demeanour.

I cannot dispute his legend status .

the fact he rubs shoulders with Del Boy and Rodney knowing what they were doing my/our club is a disgrace

He has been there over twenty years mate. You become stale and set in your ways after that length of time... I don't disagree about Henderson. Honeyman, who is a product but not a top player, has said much the same about Ball. The AoL is a Class 1 Academy and that is what I'd be expecting it to do, produce real quality..That has not happened regularly enough. Pickford and Colback aside, the production line has been so poor are the only other two or three others who you could say have came all the way through the kids, youth and u21's and made it. However, don't forget that there are players released by Ba;ll and McNamee now playing on a regular basis in the EPL. One lad he had a direct hand in letting go, a player who we are now trying to sign up was released by Ball as not good enough. As long as Ball is there he will not be signed. Nah, his times up for me.
