Yep that’s exactly where my confusion is coming from. Perhaps, as other posters have alluded to, MG’s group was the one in exclusivity as Sartori/Furhman may not necessarily need exclusivity to be in pole position. MG group may have had exclusivity to negotiate a takeover whilst internal parties could still attempt to broker a reshuffling of shares, leading to a de facto change in ownership. Pure guesswork on my part.

That sounds plausible. Would they even need permission to look at the books? Certainly not Sartori.

Another option is that GF and co had exclusivity and are pushing ahead but as MG got an alternative group together SD is doing preliminary negotiations with them simultaneously (before books are looked at etc) in case GF changes his mind like last summer.
 
There is one group who is far enough along to be in charge of all negotiations. It's never been off, on, off and on. It's been on. And still is. William Storey has literally never been in pole position, he hasn't shown proof of funds once.
