Sadiki

I think £80 Million is cloud cuckoo land but it's worth remembering that transfer fees aren't solely linked to how good a player is.

Factors like how important that player is to the current team, how long they have on their contract, how desperate the parent club are to sell and how desperate the buying club are all play a part. Trying to apply a universal logic to player worth is pointless.

£40 Million wouldn't be enough for me.

I realise that there IS interest in our players and that certain situations WILL need to be addressed in the summer…BUT until the end of May, I am just going to enjoy THIS season.
No pearl clutching or hand wringing from THIS drummist!

I honestly think people should stop pissing their pants about players leaving. If we lose a player or two for mega money in the summer so be it. We are a club on the up and I'm sure they'll be plenty of good players who would be ower the moon to be playing their football here...
It’s well tedious.
We all know clubs buy and sell players but a lot of posters seem weirdly excited about lads we’ve quickly grown to love and admire fcking off! Ridiculous

We're going to have an incessant 5 months of this now aren't we. He's linked there, he's linked there, there and there........

Proper

I’m trying not to get hung up on it but here I am reading and commenting on another thread about it

I just want to enjoy the last 6 games of the season and then feel confident that KLD, Gosolfi and RLB have a plan and won’t have their pants pulled down by anyone.

We are a simple club to deal with but we can't be bullied. Brighton found that out last year. We told them what we wanted for Watson when they tried to come in at the end of the window and we didn't budge- we wanted time to get a replacement in. They eventually signed him between windows because of this- paying what we asked, with cash upfront.

PL clubs will get a shock if they think they are going to be able to pressure us by tapping up players etc. It's been one of our strongest points.

The club have got every big sale correct since we've had players people actually want. If Sadiki goes, I'll trust their judgement and who they replace him with.

Part of our appeal is we won't stand in the way if a player does want to leave.

Ramsey went to the mags for £43m and he’s absolutely shite. I’m not sure why our fans are so desperate to undervalue our players.

Sadiki is the closest thing I’ve seen to a clone of a peak Ngolo Kante. He’s going to be a superstar.
This.

Why shouldn't the club hold on for top dollar? Its not as if anyone is desperate to be away.

Would hate to have some on here during the negotiations.

They'd sell at the first lowball offer recieved.

We're in full control. If we feel a current player or a cheaper new signing can replace one of them- we'd go for it. If not- they stay. Good place to be in.

It's difficult isn't it. Suppose it's a good thing to have your players linked with the biggest teams in the world.

First of all we can't be selling Roefs, Brobby and Sadiki in the same summer. Obviously could see one going - maybe even two. But not more then that. I'd like to think Sadiki might be prepared to give us another season with a wage bump or whatever.

You can never account for agents forcing through moves clearly, and you do not want to be the club that looks bad to other players by kicking up a fuss these days. And Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U are hard to turn down though, but I'd hope we have anyones eyes out over the players we sell and use it to re-tool the squad.
If you're going to sell, you've got to be able to replace them with 2-3 players of a similar quality or potential to hit the same levels. Always will be difficult to do and no guarentees. However, from what we've seen from the recruitment team so far, no reason to think we wouldn't be able to strengthen.
