Sadiki to Chelsea (internet chat)

He got the keeper wrong mind had him all but signed and didn’t seem that far along. He was proper dismissive of us I guess he’s from abroad and young probably had no idea who we were 😂
Nonsense that mind. He was saying Sunderland were serious and had money to have a go.

He said we were close to the keeper and just needed to agree a fee. But we never did. He had exclusive photos of Talbi on his flight over.

Mental to think he doesn't have great sources in belgian football.

It’s madness to think that the club and model that we are currently running would turn down a offer around £35m.

We paid around £15m , £17m with add ons which will not have been activated, So considering the figures it’s over 100% profit on one player in less than one season,

That is The Model
He has sell ons too, it might be the model but that doesn’t mean we will be letting players go cheap unless it’s in our terms. We’re not a league one or championship side scratching around for bargains and loans anymore. Lose too many of this team and we’d be starting again like a newly promoted side, that’s not the model. It’s to buy some cheap and sell for huge profits getting 100% return when that asset has two clubs that toss money around like confetti after him wouldn’t be worth it or smart.

I thought he seemed alright but I was probably focused on him saying we were going to sign loads of players  The Petrovic thing we don't know if he was right or wrong.

All I know is it is far better to be in the premier league and doing so well which in turn will attract clubs to our players with money to burn rather than be stuck in league 1 and having no real value in the squad.

Sadiki is integral to how we play, so if anyone wants him, they'll have to be prepared to pay top dollar for us to let him go. He's 20/21yrs of age, on a 5 yr contract, and is coming of the back of a brilliant debut season in the PL.

Theres really no reason to sell, unless a club comes in and offers us a huge amount of money.
This ☝️

Don't understand the concern about losing players - this is our approach and we will back ourselves to sign better players for less money - like we did with Bellingham and Sadiki. We've shown a capability to improve the squad, and the money being banded around is silly

The concern is because we are now aiming to do that at the top level. And a bad transfer window for 80% of the PL is a potential relegation battle.

Naturally first season up without real depth and having not replicated what you suggest yet at this level people are naturally going to be a bit nervous about potential sales of top players.

It'll probably be harder to achieve what we've done before at the top level, for various reasons. Succession planning and spending more will likely have to happen more, which also means bigger gambles.

Is this now not how it's done, everything gets done with the player first then the deal between the clubs is done last.
Exactly. We were talking to Xhaka weeks before we agreed a deal with Leverkusen and I didn't see anyone on here getting precious about "tapping up" back then.

There have been loads of article this week about Chelsea’s financial model and how they are supposedly struggling to achieve the financial targets in agreement with UEFA to avoid being banned from competing in Europe.

They apparently have to turn a strong profit from selling this summer as it is. He may well go but I can’t see anyway that Chelsea are in a position to offer the 60-70 million we would demand.

Their all knobheeds these 'ITK' types but tbf Sacha the hair went on I think it was roker report? And pretty much got everything spot on with us so sadly I think this will be true but yeah Romano, him and others are just used by agents.
Haway ya know how it works. If it’s positive for us they’re class if it’s not positive they’re full of shite

It is absolutely nailed on we will sell one of our big players this summer.

Chelsea have the sort of money to bounce back next season. Just look at the honours they’ve won. They’re supposedly a ‘basket case’ now but sit 6th in the table and in an FA Cup semifinal. I’d take that as a bad season any day !

I don’t think they do. There have been reports all week suggesting they are unlikely to meet the targets in their agreement with UEFA to avoid a competition ban. I can’t see how they can even be suggested as a credible option being he would be 60 million plus in a summer where they supposedly have to turn a hefty transfer profit

Absolute nonsense. You sell for the value. You don't sell him for £35m when he is worth more just because its 100% profit.

We got about 3,000% profit on Ross Stewart

Ok mr Buffet, But my plan is for profit and improvement so the model I follow is- if I buy for £100 and the fees included are £4.23 and someone offers me £225 I’m selling then reinvesting £150+ leaving me with just shy of 75% profit of my initial investment and a new purchase worth 50% more than my initial investment.

I agree sometimes your investment skyrockets and you outperform the market, however sometimes you lose, so never turn down 100% + profit in less than
I'd expect it to be at least 10m more than that

Jobe went for 30m and had never played in a top league

That’s just your personal expectation, nothing business related based on a structured strategy… buy for x sell for y

Reading the stories in some papers Chelsea are well and truly fecked monetarily. Why would anyone seriously consider wanting to go to a club who don't have a direction other than to skin potential players from playing for a real Club.

Complete and utter rubbish.

So we should sell Roefs for 20m? Give your head a wobble man

If we are going to make one big sale this summer then Sadiki probably makes the most sense. He's quality but I reckon we could replace him more easily than the likes of Roefs and Brobbey. Wouldn't be surprised if Diarra and Le Fee played deeper next season and we signed another attacking mid with more of a goal threat.

By this stupid logic. We would have sold Jobe for £6m :lol:

Why?? That would be fkin stupid when we were offered the amount that we sold him for, I’m not saying there aren’t fluctuations in valuations, only that when one presents itself as a markup and you have earmarked a better replacement plus money in the bank, you’d be foolish to turn that down
