Sadiki to Chelsea (internet chat)

Sadiki is integral to how we play, so if anyone wants him, they'll have to be prepared to pay top dollar for us to let him go. He's 20/21yrs of age, on a 5 yr contract, and is coming of the back of a brilliant debut season in the PL.

Theres really no reason to sell, unless a club comes in and offers us a huge amount of money.

Not sure he’s integral to how we play like.

No doubt he’s important but he’s not integral.

I’d say there’s only Roefs Mukiele xhaka and Brobby integral to how we play.

Yes he is, he's played every game when he's been available. Some of his stats are up there with the best in the league in CM. His engine and work rate is why he's being courted by top clubs.

Your right about the rest, but that doesn't mean Sadiki isn't integral as well.

Would make more sense for Man Utd to sign him as Chelsea need some experienced heads, but I doubt they'll learn any time soon

Are they? I’ll have to take your word for his stats being up there with the best int he league as I haven’t checked them tbh

Which ones are among the best?

£80000000 please
A billion pounds please…a joke in all seriousness why would you go to Chelsea other than a big payday surely if you’re Man City or Arsenal you’re playing for Trophies I can see the move thou keep in mind your losing minutes with more wages

I know not a direct comparison but if Wharton is getting touted for that much. We do the same or he's not going.

The hierarchy are savvy enough to know that players like Sadiki and Roefs are big reasons we've stayed up at a canter this season. So unless we want to struggle next season, we have to look to add to the squad depth and not sell the crown jewels for knock off prices.
This.

It is interesting that Chelsea are reported to have been discussing Sadiki's future with his representatives. These would be the same representatives who recommended to their client (Sadiki) that he sign a five years long contract with Sunderland nine months ago. Leaving aside the issue of vicariously 'tapping up' (is this still a thing ?) another club's player, what SAFC needs to do upon being approached by either Chelsea or Sadiki and his representatives is to point out that the fact that with the contract having four more years to run, SAFC holds all the cards in terms of if, and when, and for how much Sadiki will leave the club before the end of that contract.

Set a negotiations starting point at £90m, which should focus everyone's minds admirably and then see if Chelsea still want to proceed.

I'm all for players having the right to leave at the end of their negotiated contracts. However, the key phrase within that is - 'at the end of their negotiated contracts'.

I don't want him to go, but that is part of the model. Thats part of how we will attract good young players, by not standing in their way when bigger opportunities come up. Obviously we have to do it sensibly, we can't sell 3 or 4 key players every year.

If Sadiki goes, you probably looking at trebling his value in 1 season. He was 15m? You'd asking for 40-50m.
60m at least. Personally I think he's worth about 80m

Chelsea have been far more successful than Arsenal could dream of recently

Get a good fee and I suppose that’s just the way football works. But we’re well equipped to survive the fallout, we’re not like the Mags who have no succession planning for when a player leaves, we probably already have about 5 potential Noah replacements in mind.

Not to mention probably serves us in good stead to keep BlueCo on side, they own Strasbourg which is a veritable gold mine of French and French African talent and is where we signed Habib Diarra from.

Very good journalist which is worrying, but I’d trust us to get a good fee and to spend the money wisely on a few players

Genuinely think there isn’t a better place to play for Sadiki until at least the end of next season than next to Xhaka. I reckon that spell when Xhaka was out the team probably showed him that too.

Roofs, Brobbey even Alderete or Ballard I can see why they might feel they could have the desired impact in a different team but Sadiki would be best served by staying exactly where he is.

Seen the other day that he's in the top 5% for regaining possession, and taking people on. There was something about his ball carrying as well, but can't remember that. Type his name in online and I'm sure they'll come up.

You can also just use your eyes to see how important the lad is to how we play.

For a young lad Wharton has a lot more premier games under his belt, is in England squad and has Euro conference games on his CV too
Sadiki is good but he has some catching up to do re Wharton. Time is clearly on his side mind

Because we've watched him all season we are seeing his potential and his improvement. No assists or goals yet but you know it's coming. His work rate and running are phenomenal, he's good at making driving runs with the ball and he's starting to pick out some nice through balls into the attacking areas. His size and shape mean he's never going to be great in the air but that flips the other way on the deck, like a Danny Rose style centre of gravity and strong as hell. His value obviously has to take into account his very young age and how quickly he's adapting to the PL. I love the lad but would probably rather we lost him than Roefs, I think finding another MF will be easier, as some others have said.
