He's gonna have missed almost half the season, having played about 15 games in the last 2 seasons. it's gonna take him time to get up to fitness, and after being out for so long there's a good chance he won't get back up to the same level. Add to that Southampton play a different style to us, and it took him about 18 months to click with our system before he started scoring goals.

My point is, I don't think he will outscore our forwards this season. Think he will do well to hit double figures tbh.

He got 25 or summit in his first full season man haha, didn’t take anywhere near 18 months.
I reckon he defo will. The fact ours has none in 10 games means he won’t have much to beat

Amazed we got 10m for him especially as Southampton have 2 decent forwards at Championship level. Surely just wait until January and get him on a free pre contract

Don’t think Southampton could do that, they’re only allowed to sign players on pre-contracts a month before they expire if they’re from an English club (I.e. from 31 May).

Rangers could have got him on a pre-contract if he was still here mind.

I was feeling relaxed before you said that

This article says £10m, but then says Ross County are due 15% and will receive £1.2m.

Bit of a contradiction, but I suspect that means the initial fee was £8m as 15% is £1.2m. Leaves us £6.8m initially with potential add ons to come. Not sure if Ross County get a slice of those too.

It absolutely did not take him 18 months. It barely took him 2.

Hardly bigging a player up that comparison to be fair !
I like the look of the new lad mind -like a young Marco -strong , quick and want the ball in behind ( over the top ) -I have high hopes for him ( one game I kna but …)

Hope you’re right mate! Don’t even think our system suits a striker tbh, whenever they get a goal scoring chance they’re going to have to be clinical.
