Running thread 2021

Is it worth going into one of the specialist running shops and getting them to recommend a specific type of shoe based on your running style ?

I don't mind spending some decent coin (if required) as I try to go out 2/3 times a week.

Been meaning to do it for a while now but struggled to find the time.

The local ones are still doing click and collect as far as I’m aware but not the proper fit and advice like usual with them not being open.

Bad timing.

Try the brooks or sportsshoes.com shoe fitter online.

Ran on the paths today, couple of dodgy places but way better than yesterday down the lines. Still loads of traffic around mind but then I do live in a village with lots of people working in or supporting construction.

Would love just to do a parkrun again.
Would love to do 1000 miles.
Was about 60 miles short last year.
I'm also doing a Lands End to John O Groats virtual race on endtoend.run
But on Jan 1st I developed foot-knack. Think its a bruised heel. Might finally get out today!

My main goal for 2021 is not to spend it like I did 2020, which was made up of either being injured or just coming back from an injury. Here's hoping the physio's advice is better this time around...

But if I am able to run regularly, I'm hoping to do local hill races, which seemed to be more likely to go ahead when bigger events were cancelled last year.

Get yourself out, you'll lose your gains.
I know, come hail or shine I'm pushing myself out the door tomorrow and aiming for 10 miles.
My goal is to be able to run 5km without stopping. At the moment, I wouldn't be very comfortable walking 5km and I have weight to lose to reach this goal as running would put too much pressure on my knees and already fucked ankles, but I will get there by the end of this year, hopefully in a Park Run environment.
Park runs were great helping me getting to run a steady 5k without stopping. I started by running and walking my way around the course
