But they didn’t. I’m still friendly with 2 black lads I grew up with. We’ve had this discussion loads. Neither of us think He had any particular struggle’s because he is black. I’d probably say given his Dad was a doctor he got more respect than a lot of the kids. Some of the kids that came from very poor families were treat like shit.

Reminds me of my Brother's pal, he is Nigerian-mixed race. He grew up in one of the roughest areas in Sunderland, single parent family, I believe. He was the only black kid on the estate in the 70s in Sunderland! He was a decent footballer-hard as nails apparently, anyway-he's been more successful than all of the lads he grew up with. He has his own business, married a lass from Sunderland- big house, nice motors, the lot.
My point is, He was given the same opportunities as everyone else he grew up with, he didn't moan or play the victim, he made a success of his life through hard work and determination and made the most of the opportunities given him.

I think you're confusing WP with Critical Race Theory, or rather certain tenants of it.

Put it this way, white people as the majority ethnic group in the UK generally don't experience certain treatment because of their skin colour. Being stopped and searched more, followed around in shops, people wanting to touch your hair, being asked "Where are you really from?" Etc.

Aye some of it may seem trivial but that's because we (whities) don't generally deal with it day in, day out. That's what's meant by White Privilege. A better way to think of it is Majority Privilege.

That’s a totally flawed theory though. Being asked where you’re from and asked to touch your hair are very minor things compared to the examples I gave. It hardly proves the white person is in any way privileged.

When you see stats it always seems to be 2 black kids go to uni where as 20 white kids did. It should be done in percentage of how many of the black kids in the class went to uni and what Percentage of white kids was it. I’m in no way saying racism doesn’t exist because it’s a fact but I’d argue against white privilege based on what she was moaning about.

I went to hill view juniors and despite being white with a mackem accent I wasn't invited to at least two birthday parties that I know of because my mam is Israeli. Are you suggesting that there was other kids not invited because they were ginger or fat ?
