Rubbish. Anton was a good signing. Think you need to take a look at who Bruce signed when you mention journeymen.

He won't be in charge of recruitment, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Agree. Speakman is a dead man walking. Hiring Keane is a way of admitting the current system is buggered.

Defoe and Keane were to keep fans happy while the wheels fell off, unfortunately Speakman messed that up too.

If it didn't pay off I know exactly what threads on here would be "why did we give Keane full control?" I doubt he will come without some control over things, I just hope they don't give him the full lot.

That's the difference between manager and head coach. Johnson had a say on transfers so I don't see why the next person in wouldn't.

He should get the say of players coming in of course. We shouldn't be giving him control of the money to throw at whatever player he wants though. If he wants a player and it's way out of the budget we should not be giving in to his demands. The club comes before any manager here.
