That is ok, not everyone may agree, we are entitled to our own opinions but I think it is the wrong move to give full control over to a man who hasn't been in football for years. If he wants full control he is going to have to earn it and have the right players and staff set up for it.

I certainly wouldn't give him control of everything because of what he did last time, it was a long time ago. Still want Keane to come but hoping he doesn't get the say on everything within the club.
Because of what he did last time?

Took us to the PL as champions and had us comfortable in the top flight?

God forbid that happens again.

And if he had the say on everything within the club and we didn't go up, you'd still be ok with him calling the shots? I very much doubt many on here will be ok with that. That's the trouble with our fans, it's like sacking managers every 2 minutes and soon as it doesn't go well they cry for him to be sacked.

Yes of course it is great what Keane did last time but that was a long time ago, he's been out of the game for a long time and you want to gamble because of that? I guess we will see soon enough what kind of control he has over the club.

The sensible part of my brain is agreeing with you but the other part is looking at the last 5 or 6 appointments and they have made us worse so it’s what the hell give it a go from me.
If the photocopier is broken I don't know how they are going to submit a team sheet?
Crayons

Short term memories on here.

I'm a huge fan of RK and hope he is appointed. However, it's important to point out that his recruitment approach was the beginning of our death cycle. £8m for Anton Ferdinand and a huge roster of journey men.

The club needs to keep its head. We have taken the decision to head down the Director of Football path and we need to stick to it.

What say could he have when there are no transfer windows?

I do agree, but the dof needs to sort himself out and fast. Sacking Johnson with no plan is ridiculous after he brags about always looking for the next manager and a succession plan.

Death cycle that lasted 9 years?

I refuse to believe the "process" takes this long. Whatever they need to do, do it, but move a little faster ffs. It's not as if our season depends on it!

Boils my. Piss when people mention keanes transfer business being shite, the bloke dragged us from the bottom of the championship and got us promoted to the pl, then kept us up following season, he did a fantastic job imho, left us in a hell of lot better state, than when he joined, so what if he made a few bad signings on the way,he also made some great signings aswell.

So, what are you saying about any move for Keane? Would he be a bad choice? I’m thinking whilst who we bought were very good they weren’t brilliant. I hope we can still spend big on players but the absolute right ones. Big fees of like £3m is all well and fine so long as you get the right ones.
