Despite a certain section of fans talking the club down. We are a massive club at this level and the stress/panic inside the dressing room towards the 'Fear' of failure, is far greater than most other clubs at this level and it why we've always needed only the strongest of leaders and why we've been in the toilet bowl of history since Allardyce left.

Keane is a force of nature in the game, because he tells the ugly truth and the club is crying out for transparency and honesty. I hope he's learned from his mistakes as we all try to learn from them ourselves. At heart his job is to put 11 players out on the pitch who have no fear of coming off the pitch having not given 100%. The recruitment and coaching he needs good people around him and I think we will the win playoffs.

This is the thing, this is what we give a fuck about. We've applauded the team off the pitch having lost 3-0 because they gave everything they had and were simply out-classed. Its not trying that drives us mad as Sunderland fans.

A couple of posts have been deleted because of potentially libellous content.

Can we all please be a bit careful about what we post on here, even in jest.

Moderators don't have time to sort out fact from scurrilous rumours and as a result anything remotely libellous will be deleted on safety first grounds.

Repeat offenders may well attract warnings.

Thank you.

Didn't Simpson go on to have a decent career elsewhere?

I thought Stern John looked as if he had some potential on the few times I saw him play.

Stokes, another 'next big thing' was a complete waste of space, both on and off the pitch, as he proved when he went up to Scotland.
Stern John did exactly the job we needed him to do at the time. 5 goals in 16 games (according to Wiki), including a few big performances (West Brom away springs to mind), and then was part of the deal for us to get Kenwyne Jones. Doesn't qualify him for legendary status, but hard to criticise what we got out of the transfer.

I think very, very few would prefer McCann to Keane but there is a chance that Keane will turn us down. Then we have to think of who will be offered the job. McCann has very little outward charisma but did a great job taking Hull up as champions playing attacking football. He is nowhere near as bad as some make out. The thought of Lennon/Warnock/Woodgate being appointed would utterly depress me. However, I think we have a structure around any coach coming in that is better than Hull's or the majority Championship clubs. If Keane turns us down I would go for Alex Neil but I could live with McCann as there are some definite boxes ticked with him. He is not another Parkinson.

He lost the plot, we were in freefall and he'd created one hell of a mess. That's why he ran away, he knows that.
I see where ya coming from mate but it’s different this time it isn’t a case of right Roy what do you think we should do, its more a case of Roy we are doing this and this is how we see it going this is what we want to do these are the kind of players we are signing for these reasons, Are you in because we think you would be a perfect fit.

I think if he comes he has the potential to be here a very long time and build with us

If he chooses to that is.

Think ground is almost full now anyway ?
Concourse is issue due to staffing and safety
The Premier Concourse still has plenty of people sat up there on a normal matchday (club officials, their families etc presumably ?) , it wouldn't take that much to get it open fully again.
It's probably a bit late in the day now for tomorrows game though, admittedly.
