Saved that mag who played for us and missed the sitter at headchoppers Park from a life of gambling problems and the fall out

FFS man, I’ve not fully recovered from deadline day and had to drive up to Scotland for work!

Driving home tomorrow, now going to be glued to this thread all night refreshing it!!

Why wouldn’t he have the tactical nouse? He played under two of the greatest managers on world football, and certainly had sufficient tactical nouse to take us to promotion and keep us up.

Far too much talk of “formations” and “systems” and “philosophies” now anyway. Good teams have good players, playing with confidence and all understanding their jobs. People have tried to recast football as rocket science on the back of the Barcelona/tika-taka era, but it’s really not.
Absolutely spot on, every word of it.

Far too many managers, like Lee Johnson, think they are far more important than they actually are.

Keane was some force when he was younger. Passionate, driven, capable of inspiring, a maverick and a leader and as hard as nails.
My fear is that in the intervening period he has become a bit of a caricature of what he once was.
Powers fade as we age.
And if he gets the job I'll cheer like the rest.
Some people never fade just like Fergie, driven until the end. I have a feeling Keane will be similar.

We used to laugh at the mags over their Keegan and Shearer obsession. We are going the same over Keane and Defoe. We just lost 6-0 and it’s seems forgotten over a couple of big names.

I like Defoe but can’t stand Keane. Some of the things he’s said and done over the years are appalling. We will become Ireland reserves again and that won’t get us where we want to be.
I don’t want Keane either loved his time in charge of us, legend in my eyes, should not come back and ruin that status imo
