The club are cslming expectations incase they can't reach an agreement with him. Which will 100% be about length of the deal

Can’t get my head around why speakman (a bloke who’s never kicked a ball in his life) would have to interview highly qualified managers/ former pros twice. What exactly is he gonna interview Keane twice for?? Surely the first time you meet him you either think yes or no. Especially in as much of a rush we are this just doesn’t make sense, I think we will end up with either McCann or that former Nottingham Forrest manager the longer this goes on.

It wasn’t a 2nd interview as how we would think of an interview, it was for more talks might still be there now but was definitely there this morning.

I feel utterly deflated even contemplating McCann being announced as manager. If it actually comes to fruition then that will be me for the season i think. It'd be such a meek cop out from the club.
Cop out by the club or a cop out by Speakman. I think it’s blindingly obvious he doesn’t want his authority to be challenged by a Keane type manager. If Keane were to come in and Speakman remain then his level of decision making which he presently has will be diminished. Do you think Keane would allow somebody, who’s only claim to success is being at Birmingham at the same time as Jude Bellingham decide which midfielders, defenders, goal keepers to sign…not likely. I’m sure Keane would welcome Speakman compiling data, doing some of the day to day administration duties that a manager without a DOF is required to do, but makes decision on signings, never!
