He was certainly stinking the place out by the time Murray fired him.

I didn't think they were good appointments. The last time I thought we'd made a good one was Bob Stokoe, but even he lost his way. I was excited when we appointed Keane, just as I'd be horrified if we brought him back. My initial reaction to the great Paolo was shock but within forty-eight hours I was invigorated. In my opinion Di Canio is the only SAFC Manager who was sacked too early and I go back to Brown the first time. Mind Brown would never have been given the time he took to take us back up if he was around now. He wouldn't have chosen to leave us, he'd have been fired years before.
Reid should have been sacked earlier. Di Canio should never have darkened our doors. Absolute wanker of a man

Yep. Two of the best PL players who have been here before and know what it’s all about. Both left with a real affection for the club and unfinished business. 😎
Do you think Keane has that? I’m not convinced. Great though he was for us I doubt we mean that much to him.

One of the most misjudged personalities in the game.

When he was here last time people said he was a pleasure to work under.

People seem to think he constantly rants and raves 24/7.
He was great overall. Remember the story when he asked the groundsmen at the AOL why they were having their sarnies in a cold portakabin and told them they could have hot food in the players canteen, and how he put historical pictures of SAFC up at the academy as he said we had a great history and the place lacked any evidence of that.

He was canny with staff around the club and the discipline amongst the players was excellent, he brought Ferguson like standards to the club and the media were more interested in SAFC than they had been for years.

I’m not sure about Keane.. heart says deffo, brain says hmmmm.. however I’d love to see his influence on Dan Neil and Matete for a start in CM.. furthermore with Defoe involved, the professional standards, discipline and motivation would be top class.. it could work very well with the right mix of coaching staff… or not.. could he handle working with players at this level? His patience with lesser players isn’t great.. Oops, just fell off the fence!
