Yes, that's how they should be but "some" owners want any "employee" to do what they want. Which inevitably leads to an owner employing a puppet manager/head coach which Roy couldn't tolerate so he'd want assurances on what his role would be re: several factors.
 
If it really happens, Saturday is going to be immense. I can’t get a train, I can’t fly, so I’m doing a 300 mile drive, an overnight stop, followed by a 300 mile drive back home. For 90 minutes of 3rd division football. Having not been to a home game since Moyes was appointed. How is it even remotely possible that I want to do that just 5 days after the worst defeat in our history. Some club, my club!

No I never put anything blatantly forward and if that seemed the case , I literally explained my mentality behind it 2 or 3 posts down from it. I explained my opinion was based on thoughts, let me guess you chose to ignore that so you could start calling me names?
I'm not claiming I knew anything, this from a man calling himself Doctor, the irony
