You have absolutely no idea how much KLD has already invested in the squad or how much more he will invest in the future ….. you pursue the negative narrative of a two year old demanding chocolate now!

Was win win for everyone. He gets a proper last long term contract to set his family up, we get a decent fee for an injured player where there was no guarantee if and when he came back that he'd be the same player
 
He's much better off earning £30,000 a week on the physio's table in Southampton than £2,000 a week sitting on it here. Both Sunderland and Stewart have been incredibly fortunate in that sense. The lad should be hitting his peak around this age and he's barely kicked a ball in over a year.

You have to feel for him because he really is up there as one of the best this league when he's playing.

If he misses the rest of the season then it will be almost 2 years given he got hurt in the warmup against Boro back in September 2022. Think he only managed about 6 games between coming back and tearing his achilles.

Such a shame for him. Still love his time here, so my best wishes for his recovery,and it shows how unreplaceable he is for us. On the plus side a massive upgrade on his weekly sick pay.
