Im encouraged by the podcast. I liked the fact the put their balls on the line and said they want 100 points. I liked how they said the excuses stop here. That we are 13 months down the line and the state the club was in can no longer be used in mitigation. I would hope the fans on here and elsewhere acknowledge this and stop spouting this drivel. What little credibility there was to this argument is null and void when the owner himself says it is no longer applicable.

As they have backed ross, i hope he does well and proves them right and me wrong. I have always wanted this to be the case. Sadly i think i will be proven correct in this instance. There is no hiding place for him now. We need to fly out of the traps or hes gone.

Really intrigued by that now.

For what it is worth and this pure speculation on my part, is that it was introduced during the O'Neil era, around Feb time when De Fanti was first mentioned rather than before. Always felt that at the time O'Neil felt undermined by the introduction of De Fanti and possibly now this analytics. Could imagine Di Canio being a fan of analytics as well

Been doing a bit of digging on this site,

@The Cabbage it was Steve Houston, not stewart.

Also at @Zak's Dad is the book called 'The numbers game' as per this thread Lee Congerton and Steve Houston's Focus On Analytics
Thanks for that pal. Kinda sad to look back on the missed opportunity that came with not sticking to a plan.

The pre season has to be spot on as well, no excuses at all, everything needs to be set it really is now or never.

I loved the podcast. Was candid and honest and laid bare the finances and the work done to try to stabilise the club.
I'm appreciative of the work done by SD et al and I think we should be moving forward more positively.
Ha'way the next season!

It’s not. If the background stuff isn’t right there is no football club. No sentiment in anything nowadays. You have to financially viable.
You can be the best financial ran club in Britain but it means nothing if you don't perform on the pitch. No point being financial sound and being an average League One club.

Would you rather be in Luton's or Barnsley's position right now or ours?

Not sure when it was recorded but a little bit annoyed Charlie wasn't challenged for his comments on metro radio

Tbh I don't think the interviewer wanted great detail. More either into an insight of how we identify players the the roles we need, or a way of trying to find out if its Griggs attitude (which a lot of people think).

Personally I don't think Ross had ever seen Grigg play before he signed him, and they know that, which is why they got so up tight about it and couldn't answer as to answer would contradict what they said a minute before, or would mean blaming Grigg to cover themselves.

You're right. Exactly this. The method, attention to detail and the process behind our recruitment leaves a lot to be desired.

To be fair, had we spent half the Grigg money on keeping Maja, and the half the Wyke money paying Taylor. We would be up about 2 million in the bank and about 5 million in assets.

The owners are chancers man, mind boggling how people can’t see it. Look where they’ve came from, absolute amateurs.

I honestly don’t know if they are 100% legit or bluffers. I want to believe what they say but something is rubbing me the wrong way. Just hope it’s me being cautious rather than owt else.

Where have they come from?
Where do most owners come from?
The irish lads owned a few pubs. ES fund management.
These lads know how to run a club and are footy fans. Without them we could easily have gone bankrupt like pompey when we got relegated, losing all our players and having to endure another relegation to league 2
