Does @feynman have his costs breakdown yet?

Another furious mag

Har de har. Hee hee hee.

I'm a Newcastle fan because I wonder on the costs of things in a park, because I would like to see transparent financials on the use of public funds. Well mismatch my socks and paint my bed sheet. You've got me bang to rights there. So lets move on.

Just off to B&Q for a shed. Budget 4million. Hopefully I can squeeze a few chairs in for that too.

Why does this annoy you so much marra?

Massive improvements to Sunderland seem to make you cry.

It doesn't annoy me at all. I love the improvements. I just want more. I like what has happened round Lens at Roker. I like the Seaburn seafront stuff. I don't like boring square concrete hotels. Or the absolute debacle that is the Vaux site.

I think the city center in general is an absolute shameful shit hole.

I don't think there is anything to celebrate upon receiving tit bits of improvements after decades of neglect.

If I go shopping, I want an itemised receipt detailing what items cost. Would you accept a single line receipt stating 'shopping = £120' no. So why accept it for a multi million pound refurb of a part of our city.

I just want to be able to scrutinise what things cost, to remove the blatant over spending and pissing away of tax pounds that 100% happens and I have personally witnessed.

My memory isn't the best, but wasn't Seaburn 5mill? For some rocks, fencing and block paving? Doesn't this just awaken some curiosity?

In summary, I want Sunderland to improve as much as humanly possible. I don't trust those tasked with it, based on historical performance and current 'vision'.

It's not good enough for me. It is for you. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

The way it works, council propose improvements and ask for tenders. Tenders put bids in with itemised costs all broken down. Council scutinise tendered bids and award to best value for money one. Council announce improvements in press release and submit to funding body (which will run it over with a fine tooth comb). Navel gazers then question/are ignorant of the legitimacy of the bidding/tendering process and think council came up with the figures themselves on the back of a fag packet (this suits there agenda). Other navel gazers call it a waste of money and that it should be spent on summat else (without saying what). Both of these sets of navel gazers were the ones that were slating the council last week "for deeing nowt" to improve the city.
